Good morning everyone I’ve noticed Dentally runs quite slow these days- the animated Dentally logo is present for quite a while when opening patients. I’ve tried all of the troubleshooting tips- caches cleared, everything updated etc. but to no avail- we’ve tried it on a range of PCs older and newer. Are other practices having the same problem and does anyone know of a fix?
Hoping someone can help or at least commiserate! We've been experiencing ongoing issues with our Dürr VistaScan Mini disconnecting from Dentally Vision seemingly at random - and more frustratingly, images disappearing mid-processing. When this happens we have to go and retrieve them directly from the Dürr file directory, which as you can imagine is disruptive mid-appointment.To rule out the obvious - our network connection is solid, and the scanner has recently been serviced and tested, so it doesn't appear to be a hardware or connectivity issue on our end.An added headache is that retrieving the lost images from the Dürr directory is not straightforward - currently I seem to be the only person in the practice who knows how to do it. So if I'm not available when it happens, it becomes a significant operational problem with no easy resolution on the ground.I've seen a few comments from other practices flagging the same problem, and one suggestion that's come up is that Carestream scanne
Does anyone know how you can move incomplete treatment items from history in to a new plan, as far as i can see you can only re-open that course old course of treatment? of treatment? It’s a bit of a faff having to write them down and re-input in to a new plan if there are multiple items outstanding. it would be great if you could ‘add to new treatment plan’ option on incomplete treatment items.
We use diary zoning a lot and sometimes when there are gaps in the diary and we want to create a specific zone for that time and date, it is a bit messy to have to do it the current way and have a huge list of zones. We think it would be a good idea if there was a way that you can directly click on the diary (like you do to create an appointment) but to create a zone instead.
Could I please ask why this change to notes was pushed? The old system of writing and reading notes was exceptional - everything in one place, visible, easy to view whilst also multi-tasking on other things (writing letters to patients, nurse checking notes for me whilst I am doing other clinical work). Now it feels like we’re using the extremely outdated and unfriendly R4 with the clunky notes bar on the right. I’m not sure what the reason was for the change, but personally would be grateful if we could have a choice to revert back to the previous system. Thanks.
I am writing to share feedback from our team regarding the recent update to the clinical notes section within Dentally.Unfortunately, the response from both our clinicians and nurses along with our admin team has been overwhelmingly negative. Since the update was introduced, we have received numerous complaints from users across the practice who feel that the new workflow is significantly more complicated, less intuitive, and more time-consuming than the previous version. One of Dentally's greatest strengths has always been its simplicity, ease of use, and ability to allow teams to quickly access and record information. The new clinical notes interface appears to move away from these principles. Information that was previously visible at a glance is now hidden behind additional clicks and menus, making it more difficult to navigate patient records efficiently during busy clinical sessions.A particular concern for our administrative team is that they can no longer easily leave notes or c
cannot delete clinical notes now since last Thursday changes. Is any one else having this error even with level 4 permissions
Hi everyone 👋 Im Anke, a Product Manager for Dentally. I’m currently doing some research into how practices would like to handle prescriptions, and I’d really value your input. We know every practice works differently, so I’m keen to understand:How you currently create and manage prescriptions What works well for you today Where things are painful, manual, or time‑consuming What an ideal prescription workflow would look like for your practiceThis isn’t about promoting a new feature yet — it’s about listening and understanding your real‑world needs so we can make better decisions moving forward. If you’re happy to share your experience (even briefly), please comment below. Specific examples are especially helpful. Thanks so much for helping us shape what comes next
It would be great if we could send the same message to a group on Dentally Chat in the way one might do on WhatsApp and the like. For example, if this was a feature we could send a message to all dentists, all nurses, all staff etc. like a bulletin.
Is there a way to group message in the practice like SOE yet
At the moment, Dentally won’t let you use Charge when the appointment total is €0, so it won’t generate an invoice from the treatment plan for PRSI exams (because PRSI Exam has no patient fee) I would like to Allow Charge to create a €0 invoice when appointment total is €0. It is difficult for reception to know when a PRSI exam has been done as no invoice is automatically created then
The appointment history view would benefit from clearer, more detailed insight. While the summary bar showing the number of failed and cancelled appointments is helpful, the type of cancellation is just as important.Being able to see, at a glance, whether cancellations were, for example: on the day, without the required notice, with sufficient notice etc.would significantly improve clinical and reception decision-making.Colour coding cancellation reasons (for example, on-the-day, late notice, sufficient notice) would make patterns immediately visible and allow teams to apply appointment policies consistently and fairly. This would be a simple but high-impact improvement for managing diary efficiency and patient behaviour.
please, how do i create an autonote as an additional documentation just like in EXACT?
please someone tell me that this is possible to doi want a report of debtors by clinician that raised the invoice and therefore has outstanding monieswe share quite a few patient treatments eg general with a dentist, ortho with another, implants with another.please tell me this is possible as i want to hand a list to each clinician and i have tried multiple reports and the help option and cant find a way
Would love a feature to highlight or ‘pop-up’ an individual tooth history with notes . In my mind a simple ‘click and hold ‘h’ on the keyboard would bring up all the relevant notes for base charting and history of an individual tooth rather than having to search through the notes. I realise if you hover over it you see some of the previous treatments, but would love a shortcut to actually access the previous notes.
We’ve historically used Open Treatment Plans very effectively for diary utilisation and identifying outstanding treatment opportunities. However, one key limitation we’ve encountered in Dentally is the inability to efficiently filter and identify specific unbooked treatment items within open treatment plans. At present, if we try to search or filter by treatment type, the system also returns closed, completed, and historical treatment records. This makes it extremely difficult to isolate treatment that is still outstanding and genuinely unbooked.Having the ability to filter specifically for:Open and incomplete treatment only By treatment type/procedure With no future appointment bookedwould significantly improve diary management and operational efficiency. This would be particularly valuable for:Filling last-minute diary gaps with appropriate treatment Managing clinician-specific availability Supporting visiting clinicians who only attend for certain procedures Improving utilisation of o
It would be useful if NHS appointments (in the portal) could have a private price set on top of NHS banding - so we can offer hygiene along with an NHS checkup in the same appointment. This would give use better control of appointment times and pricing. For NHS practices with a UDA treadmill, time efficiency is essential.Currently patients can “book together” - but if an NHS checkup is 15 minutes we don’t need a full 20 minute hygiene slot ...maybe just an additional 5-10 minutes. We could also charge a reduced price for hygiene booked with a checkup.Current workaround would be to make a sperate “Hygiene booked with checkup” hygiene appointment and rely on patients to make the right selection and not book it as a standalone appointment - which they inevitably will.
It would be very useful to be able to message in bulk as we used to in Exact. Same with the task feature. It’s annoying having to copy and paste for every member of the team.Thanks.
It would be extremely beneficial to have the option to create questionnaire links to send to patients via the portal for pre appointment screening etc rather than being so manual for them
Hello, Is there a way to synchronize patients that are on the Short Notice List? I have checked the API documentation but could not find anything about it. Kind regards,Saimen
We have raised before the issue of emergency contact information at every training session Dentally did with our practices. The portal always asks the patients to update their emergency contact information. This information doesn't appear to show anywhere on dentally for the practice to see. Meaning the patient believes we have their emergency contact when in fact we have no way to see it.We were always told to just add this information into a custom field, not ideal but apparently Dentallys solution. You have now moved that custom field into its on box that you have to click into to see it, it doesn't appear on the patient screen now. This box also does have a UDC yes/no box which would actually be helpful as we have run these schemes for a couple of years now. but again pointless to select as it doesn’t show anywhere useful. But I believe the emergency contact info should be a priority for dentally to look into. Our current solution is hoping the patient has a previous form filled in fro
Hi, The new feature to “Block Contact” has been added. I would just like to see if we can request that the button for this in the inbox be moved from being directly next to the archive button?Reception desks have already raised it this morning that its asking for trouble being so close. Many Thanks
We are liking to new task screen layout. Would this be something that could be used on the Appointment tab e.g Today, Upcoming, Completed and Cancelled. It would make looking at patients appointment easier.
It would be a great time-saving feature if there was an option to do a mass export in the correspondence section, just like we can export the clinical notes history at the click of a button. The reason I am requesting this is that I am in the middle of copying & pasting every SMS sent, every email sent and every call log for a solicitor acting on behalf of a patient who has requested their entire data file from us. I think this feature should only be available through Administrator access level.
@Saymon @Hebe Lowen Hello, As stated on the dentally help pages https://help.dentally.com/en/articles/3563775-dentally-ipad Dentally are looking at reiring the ipad app. Does Dentally have any plans to mirror the appt book listing for each day within the concierge app. Can be a bit cumbersome having to get pts to confirm its them when doing their forms. We tend to initiate for them and pass it over to fill in. Also, is there a way of stopping concierge from checking pts in. We do that on our kiosk or manually once forms complete.
