Hi everyone 👋 We're looking for practices to help us test a new feature currently available in Beta: Supernumerary Teeth Charting. This update allows you to:Add supernumerary teeth directly to the odontogram Chart and treat them alongside standard teeth Record clinical history against supernumerary teeth Bill treatments accurately, with supernumerary teeth clearly identified throughout the workflowIf your practice regularly sees patients with supernumerary teeth, we'd love to hear from you. Your feedback will help us refine the experience before wider release.Interested in taking part?Comment below and we'll get in touch with next steps.Thank you for helping us shape the future of Dentally!
I'd like to provide feedback on your DIrect Messages feature. The windows to see the list of contacts is too small, and there is no appropriate signs as to which conversation has been read or not. Perhaps this features requires some reworking, as it is specially frustrating on large practices with dozens of staff texting. In fact, you cannot even read their full names if too long. Please fix this as this is a huge quality of lifeimprovement for a very good platform.
Hi, We are trying to figure out the most streamline way of patients signing consent forms digitally on our iPads. It would be great if there was a ‘consent tab’ available on the dentally templates, so they can sign consent just like they would sign an estimate. Can anyone shed some light on what you currently do with this. Thanking you in advance :-)
I am finding that when ready to book appts are being booked they are not being linked automatically with the date and therefore dissapearing from the ready to book. This results in the wrong next appts being booked or same appt being booked twice
I use Dentally API access to create custom reports, but have found v1 lacking in areas. I understand the “NexGen API” that has been promised for sometime has been released (congrats). When and how can we practice principals begin to use it? I can’t find the NexGen API documentation, and the v1 API documentation makes no mention of it as far as I can tell.
Having trouble as my account wont let me task any dentists who work across two of our locations as my setting only give me access to one location. Dentist see patients across both sites But I only work in one so am not allowed access to the other location. Any suggestions ?
HI. I am familiar with the FP17forms that the patients sign through dentally. We also need to sign FP17DC. Can these also be done through dentally? I am referring to the form https://www.nhsbsa.nhs.uk/sites/default/files/2025-04/FP17DC%20form%20England%20-%20April%202025.pdf I could not find any reference to it here or in the support portal. Thank you
So we have taken a step back when moving to per appointment notes. Before I could have loaded notes on my treatment line item, and save it as a plan template. That way, next time I load up the plan template, my custom notes for that treatment line item would appear automatically. With the per appointment notes update, the treatment line items can be customised, but the notes for that item do not appear. We now have to click on create note, then load up an existing template. They have made the process longer for no reason. It has been two months and I still cannot get used to the per appointment notes format. Leaving prescriptions for hygienists is a nightmare, the hygienists are wasting valuable clinical time searching for the up to date prescriptions. On top of that the plan template notes cannot be customised. Something needs to change.
We’re really not a fan of the new clinical notes update. It is not user friendly, it’s overly clunky and added additional steps which where not needed. I think it should revert back to the original note taking, as it was much more user friendly.
In “Create Referral” workflow on the patient chart page, I cannot access all my saved external referral specialists from the external referral specialist drop down menu. It only shows the first 24 in alphabetical order. It won’t populate from partial typing of the name or form the full name, and says “not found” when the search name/part name is entered, beyong the first 24 stored on my list. Is this a general fault? Ellie has made me try various different troubleshooting solutions, but none solve the problem.Thank you for any feedback.Niamh
I find it so hard to process refunds and clear off bad debt. I follow the support instructions but sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't! there needs to be a much easier way to do it. Instead of having to put invoices on and take payments and add notes maybe just a ‘Refund’ button which automatically takes the money off the account. Same for correcting patient debt, it feels like its such a long process just to do a simple task :(
Feedback from the dentist is that they do not like the format of everything being lumped together and not split into individual treatment codes. When trying to look back in history will make it harder to search for specific treatments and end up having to read unrelated notes.
Hi everyone! We’re developing the ability to send SMS and emails when an appointment is booked in the calendar, so you no longer need to send confirmations manually after booking an appointment. If you’d like early access we’re looking for beta testers to try the feature and provide feedback. Drop a comment below if you’d like to join, and we’ll get in touch with next steps!
Hi has there been any updates on being able to group message yet? thanks
Hi team,This is a simple request which I’ve spoken about with the Dentally Support team before, hopefully it will be easy to implement as it will create some small but important productivity savings. We print off our daily takings report to check and sign off as there is a “Print” button for Dentally. However, there are also 2 other reports we are using on a daily basis to check and sign off to improve financial control:1. Invoices (To check all invoices are cleared or otherwise sign off why they are unpaid)Payment allocations - Practitioners to sign off on their allocations to ensure there are no errors at end of month.Currently our team are either taking multiple screenshots to capture all the data, and pasting in Word to print. This is not the most efficient, especially for Payment Allocations for practitioners as there are multiple pages each day in the report. It would be so much more efficient to have a ‘print’ button as we do for Takings - is it possible to add this in please?
A depart bar with patients next appt and balance on the calenda would be amazing. it is super frustrating having to leave the calendar everytime to put a payment on or even just see if one is due/ next apt is charted.
We need end of day banking sheets for each clinician rather than a banking sheet that have everyone on.
Hey - I think it should be an option to always send medical history forms to in house Ipads, as not all patients have smart phones/may need help to update theirs. Some patients need to update them more frequently too.
Hi!At the moment, Dentally is only allowing to capture one email address per patient record. Is there a way that it can capture more than one per patient. so that it will work in automation notifications?Thank you.
Since the last update these is a problem with how any of the base charting and treatment that was imported into dentally from other systems (ours was SOE) is layered. Its making the base charting appear over the treatment which makes it look like the patients have mouths full of untreated cavities. The only way we have found to resolve the issue is to manually go though and delete the previously charted cavities which takes a while as we have to do it for every patient. Can this go back to how is was before? before the most recent update this wasn’t a problem.
my feedback is that the new clinical notes interface is clumsy and makes it very difficult to follow what has been happening within the treatment course. The template interface is also very clunky and it makes the system and the update being rolled out appear like it is downgrading the software and the dentist and nurse experience is more awkward. The old way of recording notes and the template interface was WAY BETTER as it was clear and concise, it was easy for any person on the dental team to follow the notes trailwhy was this rolled out without a consultation period? I may have looked at another cloud software provider if I knew this was going to be a new way of note taking which could not be changed. providers should be able to choose between the systems, this would allow for a more immersive and enjoyable experience for your users
Has anyone experienced a low recall sending rate? We are set up for automated recalls, as we were with Exact, but have been told our recalls are not sending unless our patients have checked the marketing consent box!Recalls are not marketing!!!!! They are reminders agreed with the patients. They wish to have recalls but may opt out of other non- appointment related contacts.Seriously considering opting out of Dentally after one month in, if this not resolved. Serious risk of loss of income due to increase in white spaces we never had before!!Any solutions out there?
Hi there,Can Dentally please consider installing a ‘Panic Button’ feature?Other PMS systems including SOE have this and is great if you need to alert all members of staff quickly and without delay. It is useful for any security incidents at reception / clinical areas and also for medical emergencies. It will alert the entire team immediately. Please consider this as it would benefit most, if not all practices. Thanks
What is the best way to manage cashing up in Dentally? We are struggling to find the most efficient way to cash up in Dentally. In SOE, we could create a cash bundle that automatically grouped all payments received since the previous cash bundle, making reconciliation straightforward. In Dentally, however, reports can only be printed by day. This means that if payments are taken after we have completed the cash-up, we have to manually record the patient names and account for them in the next cash-up period. This can result in payments being split across reports and makes reconciliation more difficult.
We recently Migrated and with that our plan types migrated. During this though some additional plan types were created where dentally had picked up plan and payor types from our old system or old inactive plan types were bought over. We are now multisite with 3/5 sites live so far. We now have over 30 Inactive plan types, which will likely end up being 40-50 with our next two sites going live and no option to delete them entirely. So now when i’m using reporting filter funtions I now have a huge list of inactive plans on there. If this could be added as a function or at least for Dentally support to be able to delete payment plan types 😊
