Hi everyone 👋 We're looking for practices to help us test a new feature currently available in Beta: Supernumerary Teeth Charting. This update allows you to:Add supernumerary teeth directly to the odontogram Chart and treat them alongside standard teeth Record clinical history against supernumerary teeth Bill treatments accurately, with supernumerary teeth clearly identified throughout the workflowIf your practice regularly sees patients with supernumerary teeth, we'd love to hear from you. Your feedback will help us refine the experience before wider release.Interested in taking part?Comment below and we'll get in touch with next steps.Thank you for helping us shape the future of Dentally!
Message to the developers - it’s essential to have an option to put a separate password on the income section of dentally separate from the password to login. This is because we have to give access to nurses to chart teeth ect while we are with patients. However they shouldnt have access to our income as that is personal information and I have recently found nurses accessing this without permission.
Looking for a feature that would allow us to put little notes off the side of an invoice where we could write why we gave a patient an adjustment, etc. It wouldn’t need to appear on the invoice it would be more so for the team to see and reference if we are wondering something specific about a bill/claim.
Online Booking:Under-18s are exempt from NHS dental charges, so we've named the services accordingly, e.g. "KIDS ONLY! - FREE NHS - age 0-12 - Oral Health Assessment". However, Portal still shows "Price £27.90" directly underneath the service name (screenshot attached). So the patient sees "FREE" in the title and a £27.90 price a line below it.This has caused genuine confusion - we've had parents contact the practice asking whether they'll be charged, and some hesitate to book at all.I called Dentally support to ask whether there's a way to switch the fee display off for these services, or set an alternative price for exempt groups. I couldn't find any setting for this myself, and support confirmed:"As mentioned, it's not currently possible to change how the pricing of NHS treatment displays on Portal. However, I have put this through as a feature request for you so hopefully our Dev Team can implement this in the future!"What we'd like to see is any of the following:A per-service togg
I liked Dentally Vision as an idea BUT when I last looked at it, you couldn’t report on a radiograph and look at the x-ray at the same time. Therefore you had endless screen swapping. In Digora which is considerably older…… this is easy. You can add meta data diagnostics, reports, tooth notation plus the basics like dates.AND AGAIN BIG ISSUE….Vision only imports historic images…… you lose all the reports and diagnostics. It feels odd that Dentally cannot import multiple fields of different types….. which is fairly basic data import technology. This really a prompt to see if Dentally can give this some thought as I have a PC based radiograph and clinical photography setup mixed with cloud Dentally…...obviously fully cloud would be far better.
There is nothing to indicate that cyber terrorism will ever affect data centres like those used by Dentally….but you never know. Plus I plan to retire in the next few years and obviously there are medico legal aspects related to data storage on patients and security of treatment and treatment plans…...for instance my successor might choose a different practice management system or use 1 they are already used to.So….off Cloud BUs or BUs to alternative Cloud providers.Should this be a routine programme download capability?Would the raw data allow ongoing data reading??
Our invoice has a series of pre set aspects such as Logo, Practice Address, invoice details and invoice table etc etc. Some are pre fixed and some like Patient name and address, email etc are drawn from current patient details. Is there a way to subdivide something like the invoice table so that certain parts can be omitted with ( display none) CSS lines. This would be useful BECAUSE our invoice states….”invoice…… for treatment completed on …..2026” which is usually a very recent date…..this though is useless if we are billing for something a few weeks ago or even an ancient error omitted account.Solutions….. have 2 invoices in which one doesn’t preset the treatment completed date and leaves it amendableORSubdivide the “invoice table” into its current bank details section and a treatment complete section….. then on the rare occasions that the date just causes confusion….. we could use the CSS (display none) to omit it
Hi,Zoning the diary seems to be a freeform kind of thing to do - what i mean is that we can write whatever title and select any colour...which is fine...but i’m thinking how do we maintain diary integrity. Not that it happens often but if someone books in the ‘wrong’ type of appointment in a zone - how can i see this without manually hoovering over the diary?(actually scrolling through the diaries to do stuff is a regular thing but maybe another post) It’s something we push hard on is A using the zones, B putting in the right appointments in the right zones, it would be useful if we could see a list of incorrect appointments to then help coach folks or understand the causes.Having some more defined zone categories perhaps might help with future features ie online booking for treatment :)
Hi Dentally team/community,I’d like to suggest a feature to link a treatment code to a default Appointment Reason.Implementation Ideally, each treatment code could have an optional Default Appointment Reason setting. When an appointment is created from that treatment, the reason would be pre-populated but could still be changed when appropriate. For exampleCrown preparation → “Prosthodontics” appointment reason Extraction → “Surgical Treatment” appointment reason Root canal treatment → “Endodontics” appointment reason Scale and polish / periodontal treatment → “Hygiene” appointment reason Fixed appliance bonding → “Orthodontics” appointment reasonThe idea would be that, when an appointment is created from a planned treatment, Dentally automatically selects or suggests the most appropriate Appointment Reason. Handling appointments with multiple treatmentsOne consideration would be appointments containing several planned treatments. I think this could remain simple:If all treatments in th
Hi Dentally, I’m reaching out to ask whether you offer any support or guidance for tracking bookings related to Google Ads campaigns. It is essential for our marketing to have accurate data on the effectiveness of our ads and patient booking numbers through our Dentally booking system. Without this data, it’s challenging to optimise our campaigns effectively and ensure a strong return on investment. Google Ads tracking is normally set up through Google Tag Manager and GA4, however, it doesn’t look like you currently have those available as integrations. Is this something you are going to be offering soon? In the meantime, is there an alternative method for setting up Google Ads conversion tracking that you could provide a step-by-step guide for, or help us implement? Lastly, I can see that we have a Tag Manager added to our Dentally booking system. Please could you let me know how that’s possible, given that Tag Manager is not currently available as an integration? Thank you,TwentyOneD
Hi guys,When we have an email sent to us and it is not through Dentally, we have to obviously log it in a patient’s notes, correspondence etc. It would be good if a ‘log and email’ toggle could be selected as well as ‘log a call’ in correspondence
I’d really like Dentally to review the functionality of the Short Notice List, particularly for practices that use zoning within their diaries. We zone our books to protect capacity for different types of patients and treatments. For example, we may have a private zone reserved in the diary, but if that zone has not been filled five days in advance, we would normally open that time up so it can be filled from the Short Notice List. This worked extremely well for us when we used SOE/Exact.With Dentally, however, this does not appear to be possible. My understanding from the conversations we have had with various trainers and members of the Dentally team is that the zones effectively sit within the underlying diary set-up. Therefore, even if we remove or delete the zone from the visible diary, Dentally still recognises that time as having an active zone attached to it and the Short Notice List will not send patients into those appointments. For us, this is not a minor inconvenience. It dire
Hi team,We use the deposit feature regularly to discourage patients from cancelling on short notice/FTA and it is really helpful in keeping our utilisation up.There are a couple of things that would really help with making this feature more effective:1)A way for reception to follow up on unpaid deposit links sent out. There is currently no way to check which deposit links remain unpaid. The “send payment link” option has a generic message. We would like to update this with a template with additional text (to avoid manually typing it each time). However, if we try to set up an SMS template, the “ [payment_request_link]” for that deposit amount is not a tag available, ie we can’t link in that specific deposit amount, just the patient’s whole account (which wouldn’t work anyway as deposits are not listed as an invoice)… Could you look into making these enhancements to make taking and following up deposits more efficient?
HI. I am familiar with the FP17forms that the patients sign through dentally. We also need to sign FP17DC. Can these also be done through dentally? I am referring to the form https://www.nhsbsa.nhs.uk/sites/default/files/2025-04/FP17DC%20form%20England%20-%20April%202025.pdf I could not find any reference to it here or in the support portal. Thank you
Currently, we cannot select our Email templates when right clicking from the appointment diary and clicking “Send Email”This means that i am limited to having an email template to “Cancel Next Appointment” but what if the appointment i am cancelling is not their next appointment? It would be useful to have a dropdown to choose from our Email Templates just like we can do when we send an SMS when right clicking an appointment in the diary. This would allow us to create a template which we can use the data tags to pull info from that specific appointment. This would be efficient because we do not pay for sending Emails but we do for sending SMS’s
We are having issues when patients are completing their FP17 at home on the portal, and either not marking an exemption or wrong exemption. If it is under 25 over 60 as this does not come up on list of exemptions as it is not a permanent exemption so there is no way at all to solve this, if you invalidate the FP17 it is not reissuing the form to the portal, and then the patient automatically comes up with a charge. If the exemption is wrong and we invalidate it it still does not send to the portal even in if a COT has not been planned.I do feel practices need to be able to invalidate and reissue when the patient attends its causing a lot of time to be spent trying to figure out as admin how to rectify it and then for clinicians in practice who presume the patient form is correct. If we could simply send a new form to the clinipad on arrival it would solve all the issues. If we get a paper FP17 signed this will not serve any purpose as it will not change the charges on the record for the
I think it would help reception if each clinician’s diary was in different colours, not just an option of having coloured appointments.
Hi it would be really useful if a refund button could be created for refunds rather than creating negative invoices and then negative payments. Also a do not recall button for those patients that do not want to be recalled rather than having to clear recalls on the patient details page as well as the recalls page.
It would be very helpful if you could edit the title of documents when you save them to customize them for each patient rather than the document being saved as the letter template title- for example- if writing a endo referral for a UR6 it would be helpful to be be able to save it with that title rather than just referral (the template title) so the admin and clinicians can get a better idea of what correspondence has been sent and received without having to open the documents up each time. Thanks
So we have SMSs and Emails that bounce...for various reasons. We either resend or work out whats wrong and use another form of communication to get the right details…but then they get archived(and theres no reporting on who’s archived what)….and the problem goes away...or does it!If the patient doesn't get back to us - we try and task(habit being built!) to follow up again but that doesn't always workI’m thinking of some sort of bounced inbox for SMS and Emails, that we can work on and mark completed once we’ve got their details and the sms or email has gone through successfully(or it could figure it out automatically! :)) ...so it doesn't clog the main inbox but we don't lose sight in archived section.
Tasks are difficult to manage in Dentally, the team can change due dates without it being clear on the audit. it would be nice if a due date was changed a reason was added in so we have transparency as to why due dates are being changed. Also Task reporting - can I see how many were created, closed on time, overdue - longest wait time etc. at the moment a task is as useful as a note when it comes to performance management which means we use it but trying to manage the team on these tasks is near impossible!
When a day has been cancelled (short notice or otherwise) by a clinician, the appointments that need rearranging are really difficult to spot. On SOE, a cancelled day would turn all appointments red on the appointment diary. This was a really valuable feature for reception staff to identify which appointments still need cancelling. Without it, a busy reception team can easily overlook cancelling a day as there is no visual cue. This will lead to annoyed patients who either don’t get enough notice to rearrange appointments, or don’t get called at all and show up anyway! It doesn’t help the management team either as at a glance it looks like the diary has been badly managed and not booked efficiently. You can’t see why without searching. Please bring in this simple feature. It will really help the workflow for the team.
Hey,Is there anyway that when you send a patient appointment confirmations or reminders, if it can remind them of all their appointments not just one if they have multiple booked?Sometimes patients will call up asking to book another appointment in later down the line while already having one booked in and when I go to send them the confirmation email or reminder it will only send one appointment (which is not the new appointment booked) and not both. Is there anyway this can be amended as it would be a great help especially if you have just booked in imps bite try and fit appointments? Thanks!
I would like to be able to “click and drag” treatments between different appointments, rather than having to click into the “reordering/rearranging” button on the bottom. This makes it slower and I find it redundant. I would also like to be able to select multiple treatments and drag them to another appointment. This would make organizing much easier.
I find that there are too many questions for the medical history.I really like how on EXACT they categorized them into different column, this make updating medicals much easier and also easy to read. I would also like the allergies to be made more noticeable on the patient portal, rather than having just a heart icon. (I was told this was due to private and confidential, however most patients would appreciate that we are aware of the allergies that they have, would be good for us to have the option to switch on and off the allergy notification on the patient file)
