Hi everyone 👋 We're looking for practices to help us test a new feature currently available in Beta: Supernumerary Teeth Charting. This update allows you to:Add supernumerary teeth directly to the odontogram Chart and treat them alongside standard teeth Record clinical history against supernumerary teeth Bill treatments accurately, with supernumerary teeth clearly identified throughout the workflowIf your practice regularly sees patients with supernumerary teeth, we'd love to hear from you. Your feedback will help us refine the experience before wider release.Interested in taking part?Comment below and we'll get in touch with next steps.Thank you for helping us shape the future of Dentally!
It would be ideal if we could scan documents within the software so documents can be scanned on patient file and immediately uploaded. Like on SOE.
In admin settings > treatments It would be great if we could automatically link codes. So when dentists are charting treatments that require multiple appointments all of those are automatically added to the treatment plan. For Example if a dentist selects Chrome/Acrylic denture it would also add, denture impressions, denture bite, denture try in to the treatment plan. (If a practice chooses to set this us). Same for Crowns automatically adding in preparation stage. This would save time and also mistakes of these not being added manually by the clincian, which if like our site has a cost attached can cause issues if its not present on estimates.
We recently migrated to Dentally and although there is many features that are fantastic 😁. There are some things I am missing from SOE 😶The biggest example is an invoice generated for Zero fee treatments. As there is no option to charge £0 on treatment plans, we cannot create an invoice. Why?We have capitation plans and pay our Clinicians a set fee for Examinations. We also pay our hygienists a set fee for patients seen under capitation plans. If these automatically generate an invoice even with a 0 balance they can then be found on the Income breakdown as a lovely total of that treatment code seen. In a format I can print/save. I am aware I can run a practioner activity report and add lots of filters but this gives me pages of information - since it shows every individual patient, when all I need is a sum figure of the code we use for these capitation exams. So if there is any other suggestions or can add this feature in it would be fantastic 😁
We went live with our online booking some 6 weeks ago.On average we’re getting only 3-4 online bookings a week despite having the portal link in all our recall emails and reminder emails and mainly from existing NHS patients. More importantly, we’re seeing a large number of these patients making multiple bookings and failing to turn up for any of the appointments. Why does the portal allow users to book more than one of the same appointment without warning them to either cancel or rescedule an appointment? There is no feature to switch off online booking for persisten offenders, only an option to prevent further appointments in general (in the patient’s details tab) which is not the same thing as I might be happy for them to call and my staff book them inWhat is the solution here because I can see this becoming an issue as not only are we seeing wasted appointment slots but multiple text msgs which just add up?
Hi guys,When we have an email sent to us and it is not through Dentally, we have to obviously log it in a patient’s notes, correspondence etc. It would be good if a ‘log and email’ toggle could be selected as well as ‘log a call’ in correspondence
Hi, Is there any way to see a log of changes that have been made to a specific appointment, eg if the appointment has been moved last minute (but not cancelled) or if the time of the appointment has been lengthened. On SOE there was a function where all the changes to a specific appointment were logged. It is very helpful when there is a patient who is a constantly cancelling or changing appointments last minute as it provides evidence. Many thanksMarian, Bupa Windsor
Hi all, I'm Luke, a product designer working with the Dentally team. We're reworking one of the parts of Dentally you spend the most time in: writing up your clinical notes, and we'd love your input to help shape it.We're keen to hear from NHS and private practices from any region.Who I'm looking forDentally users who write up (or help write up) clinical notes day to day: dentists, associates and nurses. You don't need to be a power user or have any technical knowledge. If you've ever rushed to finish notes between patients, hunted back through a patient's history to find an old note, or had a view on templates and custom fields, you're exactly who I want to hear from.I'm keen to hear from a mix, dentists and nurses, people who type everything out and people who live in custom fields, because how each of you works isn't always the same, and the notes need to work for all of it.What's involvedA short, informal video call, 30 to 45 minutes, where I show you some early designs and you tel
As a Level 4 user, I would like the ability to change the date of an existing payment without having to delete and recreate it.At present, if a payment is entered with the wrong date, the only option is to:Unallocate the payment. Delete the payment. Enter the payment again with the correct date. Reallocate it to the relevant treatment or invoices. This is a time-consuming process for what is often a simple data entry correction. It also increases the risk of mistakes when reallocating payments.Allowing Level 4 users to edit the payment date while keeping all allocations intact would:Save time for practice staff. Reduce unnecessary administrative work. Minimise the risk of allocation errors. Improve efficiency without compromising security, as the permission would be restricted to high-level users.
Hi guys, I’ve been told theres a feature to add the reason why a patient has refused their treatment plan, e.g cost, finance failed etc. Does anyone know how I go about setting this up? If not is it a feature that could be added it would help with KPI Thanks
Hi,When an NHS patient is exempt because they claim Pension Credit / Universal Credit etc - the GP17 form asks if this is the patient or someone else who qualifies for the benefit. When it is the patient there should be a box to tick to state it is the patient.Instead it then asks to type the patient name and DOB or National Insurance number. If this is the patient then this is so time consuming and very annoying. If the patient is the one who claims the benefit we should be able to just tick the box and not have to type out all their information again.
Hey!Is there anyway to turn off the DOB and First initial of surname to log onto Dentally Portal? It is very time consuming especially when reception is busy. Patients shouldn’t have to log back in to sign part 2 of their NHS form / estimates etc.I understand having to initially do it on arrival but it is excessive and time consuming having to log them in again just for a quick signature.
When patients have 2 consecutive appointments in one day, they are receiving 2 txt messages. The second text has on the later apt time and numerous patients see that and ignore the first one. There needs to be an automation to ensure that patients with consecutive apts only recieve one sms. It is costing us more in txts and in missed chair time. Does anyone have a solution for this?
I find it so hard to process refunds and clear off bad debt. I follow the support instructions but sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't! there needs to be a much easier way to do it. Instead of having to put invoices on and take payments and add notes maybe just a ‘Refund’ button which automatically takes the money off the account. Same for correcting patient debt, it feels like its such a long process just to do a simple task :(
A feature request to have a recall overdue alert next to the Medical history overdue alert
We are having issues when patients are completing their FP17 at home on the portal, and either not marking an exemption or wrong exemption. If it is under 25 over 60 as this does not come up on list of exemptions as it is not a permanent exemption so there is no way at all to solve this, if you invalidate the FP17 it is not reissuing the form to the portal, and then the patient automatically comes up with a charge. If the exemption is wrong and we invalidate it it still does not send to the portal even in if a COT has not been planned.I do feel practices need to be able to invalidate and reissue when the patient attends its causing a lot of time to be spent trying to figure out as admin how to rectify it and then for clinicians in practice who presume the patient form is correct. If we could simply send a new form to the clinipad on arrival it would solve all the issues. If we get a paper FP17 signed this will not serve any purpose as it will not change the charges on the record for the
Appointment Finder is a good way to search for appointments, but there's a couple of ways you could make it really useful:1.) In the appointment finder filter, add a 'days of the week' filter so I can select only the days I'm looking for, without having to scroll through loads of appointment slots on days I don't want.2.) 5-minute intervals for spaces is much too short, and leads to a lot of bloat and endless scrolling - If there's a space at 11:30, I don't need to know there's also a space at 11:35 (and 11:40, and 11:45... etc). Instead, just put the first available time in that space, and then set the interval to 30 minutes. So the gaps would read: 11:30, 12:00, 12:30 etc. It would vastly cut down on bloat, and allow finding spaces further down the line much faster.3.) Separate point - Please bring back the appointment matrix from Exact so I can see spaces weeks & months ahead again. The 'Practitioner utilisation forecast' is already a good start, please add a horizontal scroll t
What seems to be a new update, putting the dentally support in a bubble on the bottom right of the page. Please can we get an option to remove this and keep the support where it was.
Hi Dentally Team,We are working on DentPulse, and we're currently integrating with the Dentally API.We're using the Treatment Plan Item API to retrieve treatment data for reporting purposes. Our goal is to calculate the Total Amount exactly as it appears in the Practitioner Activity Report within Dentally. However, we're unable to determine how this value is derived from the API response.Could you please clarify the following? Is there a field in the Treatment Plan Item API (or its metadata) that represents the same Total Amount displayed in the Practitioner Activity Report? If not, what is the recommended approach to calculate this value so that it matches the report exactly? Are there any additional endpoints or related resources that should be used alongside the Treatment Plan Item API to reproduce the Practitioner Activity Report totals? Our objective is to ensure that the values displayed in our application match the Practitioner Activity Report in Dentally.Any guidance or best prac
Hi everyone! We’re developing the ability to send SMS and emails when an appointment is booked in the calendar, so you no longer need to send confirmations manually after booking an appointment. If you’d like early access we’re looking for beta testers to try the feature and provide feedback. Drop a comment below if you’d like to join, and we’ll get in touch with next steps!
We regularly have an issue with receptionists deleting appointments instead of cancelling them. When an appointment is deleted, we lose the record of why it was removed, whether it was cancelled by the patient or by the practice, and any associated notes.Would it be possible to add a permission setting that allows administrators to prevent users from deleting appointments, while still allowing them to cancel appointments? This would help maintain a clear audit trail and improve record keeping.
We have a problem with online abooking where patients are booking a 15 minute examination in the middle of an hour long space. We dont want to use zones as this is too much work to implement and wouldnt, as far as I can see, solve the problem. It would be much better if patients were limited to booking at the start or end of a space. Even better if patients were first offered spaces that fit exactly the appointment time, before later being offered other appointments. with a larger space.
Hi!At the moment, Dentally is only allowing to capture one email address per patient record. Is there a way that it can capture more than one per patient. so that it will work in automation notifications?Thank you.
In “Create Referral” workflow on the patient chart page, I cannot access all my saved external referral specialists from the external referral specialist drop down menu. It only shows the first 24 in alphabetical order. It won’t populate from partial typing of the name or form the full name, and says “not found” when the search name/part name is entered, beyong the first 24 stored on my list. Is this a general fault? Ellie has made me try various different troubleshooting solutions, but none solve the problem.Thank you for any feedback.Niamh
I would be great if there was an option to send short notice lists via email rather than sms, also options to select what days/times appointment the pt would like to be notified for!
