Hi Dentally Team, I hope you’re well I’m Ahmad co-founder of Clero, an AI Receptionist for dental practices. We have requested access through this form a few months ago https://www.dentally.com/en-gb/integrations/become-a-partner, and I’ve resubmitted again today since we didn’t hear back the first time.Do you know when we can hear back to become official partners? Many thanks,Ahmad Abdelaal
Hi Dentally team,I submitted a partner / marketplace request for Aimee LLC on 2 July, but I haven’t received a confirmation or response yet. We’re building Aimee, an AI phone receptionist for dental practices. Aimee helps front-desk teams handle missed and after-hours calls, answer basic patient questions, and book or reschedule appointments directly in the practice management system. We would like to build the Dentally integration correctly and safely from day one, so I wanted to check:1. Has our partner request been received?2. Is there a way to get access to a Dentally sandbox practice for API testing?3. What is the correct process for API credentials and partner approval? For the first stage, read-only access to patients, appointments, practitioners, locations, and appointment types would be enough. Later, we would like to test appointment create/update/cancel in sandbox only.Company: Aimee LLCWebsite: [REDACTED]Contact: [REDACTED] / [REDACTED]Thanks,Aleksandr
HI Team,We are VoiceFleet an AI voice receptionist. We have requested a partnership request via this form  https://www.dentally.com/en-gb/integrations/become-a-partner to gain access to the Dentally API a couple of weeks ago and haven’t received a confirmation or response. Is there a way I can confirm the request has been received? Many thanksMariano
The xero integration is great and we were so relieved that this was a feature on Dentally, however since turning the xero integration on, we have since learnt it has some flaws.Payments can’t be amended - This is not realistic & as much as we’d like to ensure payments are added onto the patient’s account correctly, this is not always possible. Not being able to amend payments once they’ve been entered creates a huge issue.Daily automation - my suggestion is for there to be a delay with the uploading of the data from Dentally to Xero (even 48 hours). This will allow enough time for any amendments to be made & in order to ensure the accounts are correct.
Hello, when it comes to any change to the API, can there be communcation on either the community site or the developer site of any change to API? as a recent example, there was some underlying changes made to the Appointments API on Monday (3rd November), which caused our ETL to timeout repeatedly.
Hi Dentally,When will we will be able to intergrate with Hot Doc? Thanks.
Hello, Is there a way to synchronize patients that are on the Short Notice List? I have checked the API documentation but could not find anything about it. Kind regards,Saimen
Hi Dentally Team,  I recently attended your stand at the Dentistry show. A team member named Blair actually rang me and told me to speak to rick gay in which I did.  My details were taken down and whilst I understand you’re very busy with a lot of requests, I’d really like this request to get seen to. Please let me know, Danny CEOÂ
The api docs have NHS and PPSÂ number field for UK and Ireland but not one for Medicare (Australia)Â that i can see of. Coming from a legacy system which did not record medicare expiry date, the migration to Dentally meant the medicare number was inserted into notes, while the IRN (individual ref number) inserted into Health Fund Patient ID field. We are updating the Medicare number of patients and could not easily update it into the Medicare number field because of the lack of API endpoints. I hope this is in the works soon.
We have just started with Dentally and chose is specifically for the Xero integration. As a dental prosthetic clinic we have only a few items that include GST. When going over to Xero it seems to default as GST Exclusive, even for a day where no items with GST were charged. I can manually alter this in Xero but that seems clunky and not a true “integration”.A bigger problem I am having is a day where we did three transactions, two which were GST free and one that included GST but in Xero GST has been charged on the total which is not correct, and the only way I can see to fix it is to redo the invoice with the days transactions individually, but again this seems like a lot of manual work when it should just do it correctly in the first place. Has anyone had similar issues with the Xero integration?  How did you fix it or manage this? Thanks
HI Team,I have requested a partnership request via this form  https://www.dentally.com/en-gb/integrations/become-a-partner to gain access to the Dentally API a couple of weeks ago and haven’t received a confirmation or response. Is there a way I can confirm the request has been received? Many thanksTeganÂ
Dear Dentally team,I'm building a CRM and marketing tool on behalf of a client. Initially the client wants a simple feature that links a CRM contact record to a Dentally patient record (search by name/email/phone, store the patient ID, deep-link back into Dentally). The CRM is multi-tenant — the client is the first user, but other practices will sign up over time and connect their own Dentally accounts via OAuth. We'd like to design the integration correctly from day one.Could you advise on the following:Access & onboardingHow do we get access to the Dentally sandbox environment for development and automated testing? Is there a self-serve sign-up, or does someone on your side need to provision a sandbox practice for us? Do we (the CRM vendor) and/or our client need to be registered as a Dentally Partner? If so, what's the process, eligibility criteria, and rough timeline for approval? Many thanksPaul
Hi ThereI have built a voice AI receptionist designed for businesses including dental practices. It handles inbound calls, captures patient details, and manages appointment booking. We're exploring the integration with Dentally's API to support live appointment booking and availability checks for practices using Dentally. We'd love to discuss becoming an approved integration partner and understand the process for gaining access to a sandbox environment to begin development. We are also currently working with practices that serve NHS patients and would be keen to understand how Dentally supports NHS practices, particularly where it could be a stronger fit for their workflows alongside our AI receptionist.Would someone be able to point us in the right direction? Thanks!
We had been using Vantage Rego to send across NW London referrals for our NHS patients, this was integrated into dentally We have been told by the ICB that we need to use eRS now, they have requested details on a form to ask for the APIM id, what should we be adding here? If not how do we send referrals now?
Does anyone have a list of compatable terminals for use with Worldpay in order to integrate with Dentally i.e. send payments directly from Dentally to the card machine please? I have seen A920 Pro mentioned but it is still vague as to whether this would work. I was told if it had a screen then it should be ok. Of course I purchased one with a screen and it didn’t. A list of terminals that would work is impossible to find from the Dentally end unfortunatley so anything that is being used would really be appreciated. Thanks
Good morning everyone. We have an App that integrates with Dentally. We obtain a token at authentication. After 14 days the token expires and we need to ask our client to manually refresh the token. Is there a way to:Extend the to token lifetime (change “expires_in”) and/or refresh the token automatically ( POST grant_type=refresh_token)?Many thanks folks.
Hi there, I’m trying to create an appointment with Zapier. I can see this option in the screenshots on the help page but the option isn’t coming up in events? Please advise how I can do it so I create an appointment via zapier?
Hi Dentally Team,I recently signed up for the Dentally partnership programme as we’re looking to build an integration, but I haven’t heard back yet. I was in touch with Megan a couple of weeks ago about putting this through, so just wanted to follow up.I wanted to check on the status of the application and specifically request access to the sandbox environment so we can begin testing the API.We’re keen to get started with development and want to ensure everything is built correctly before going live. Thanks in advance — happy to provide any further details if needed. Thanks,Riyad
Hi,We’ve been using the Dentally API to power Dentext (our custom external patient communication platform). It handles our SMS routing, custom templates, and automated messaging beautifully but we’ve hit a specific challenge. We want to automatically text patients a link to complete their Medical History questionnaire prior to their appointment, exactly how it behaves natively in Dentally's SMS system. To do this, we need to inject that patient-specific link directly into our Dentext templates.Does anyone know how to retrieve or construct this unique link via the API? Is there a specific endpoint to request this token/link? Or is the URL structure predictable enough that we can build it programmatically using the patient_id or patient_uuid?I know we can use the practice portal link from Portal Admin > Customise, but that behaves differently. It forces the patient to register first, whereas the native Medical History link goes straight to the questionnaire after a simple Date of Birt
Hi, One of the dental practices which we work with is having a Dentally account for multiple sites. I don’t know the exact number but they have around 10 sites for the Dentally account. Is there a way or a procedure to increase the limit of 3600 API calls per hour? With the current limit and setup of the account, it would be very hard to stay in sync in a correct way. Thanks, Saimen
Hi there, I’m trying to create a patient in Dentally from a Zap. The zap will pull patient data from a form on our website and then create that patient in Dentally. The first part is working correctly pulling the form data via a webhook, however the patient creation step isn’t working. I’m using the Dentally 1.3.0 version in Zapier.I’ve tried multiple variants for submitting patient data, including copying data straight out of Dentally (so that the target field matches), but whenever I test it, it returns:“Failed to create a patient in Dentally (1.3.0)The app returned "The patient could not be processed".”I wanted to check:is the Dentally Zapier app still supported? Any ideas on general issues with creating patients? Am I better using the API?Thanks for any thoughts,TomÂ
Hello đź‘‹Â I am working on a project called Response dental for emergency booking appointments, and would like to have live integration with Dentally. I have completed the coding on my side and would like access to a sandbox environment to test the system. Hopefully someone can help! Thank you 🙏  ImranÂ
Can a param filter please be added to the Rota Practitioner Diary that filters out rows in which a practitioner is no available? It makes sense that in endpoint we the only are looking at dates in which our practitioners are available, and we can make the assumption the practitoner is not available a certain as there is no data for it.
I wanted to create an API integration using OAUTH for getting the tokens. I have managed to create an OAuth app using settings > developer. Having trouble with OAUTH endpoints since I don’t know the correct format for calling them. Please help. Also I wanted to know if the OAUTH flow can be tested in localhost using http.Â
Hi Dentally - where did the authentication page go in the API reference? Why was it removed?
