my feedback is that the new clinical notes interface is clumsy and makes it very difficult to follow what has been happening within the treatment course. The template interface is also very clunky and it makes the system and the update being rolled out appear like it is downgrading the software and the dentist and nurse experience is more awkward. The old way of recording notes and the template interface was WAY BETTER as it was clear and concise, it was easy for any person on the dental team to follow the notes trailwhy was this rolled out without a consultation period? I may have looked at another cloud software provider if I knew this was going to be a new way of note taking which could not be changed. providers should be able to choose between the systems, this would allow for a more immersive and enjoyable experience for your users

I use Dentally API access to create custom reports, but have found v1 lacking in areas. I understand the “NexGen API” that has been promised for sometime has been released (congrats). When and how can we practice principals begin to use it? I can’t find the NexGen API documentation, and the v1 API documentation makes no mention of it as far as I can tell.

Has anyone experienced a low recall sending rate? We are set up for automated recalls, as we were with Exact, but have been told our recalls are not sending unless our patients have checked the marketing consent box!Recalls are not marketing!!!!! They are reminders agreed with the patients. They wish to have recalls but may opt out of other non- appointment related contacts.Seriously considering opting out of Dentally after one month in,  if this not resolved. Serious risk of loss of income due to increase in white spaces we never had before!!Any solutions out there? 

Hi there,Can Dentally please consider installing a ‘Panic Button’ feature?Other PMS systems including SOE have this and is great if you need to alert all members of staff quickly and without delay.It is useful for any security incidents at reception / clinical areas and also for medical emergencies.  It will alert the entire team immediately.Please consider this as it would benefit most, if not all practices.Thanks

Since the last update these is a problem with how any of the base charting and treatment that was imported into dentally from other systems (ours was SOE) is layered. Its making the base charting appear over the treatment which makes it look like the patients have mouths full of untreated cavities.The only way we have found to resolve the issue is to manually go though and delete the previously charted cavities which takes a while as we have to do it for every patient.Can this go back to how is was before? before the most recent update this wasn’t a problem.

We need end of day banking sheets for each clinician rather than a banking sheet that have everyone on. 

What is the best way to manage cashing up in Dentally?We are struggling to find the most efficient way to cash up in Dentally. In SOE, we could create a cash bundle that automatically grouped all payments received since the previous cash bundle, making reconciliation straightforward.In Dentally, however, reports can only be printed by day. This means that if payments are taken after we have completed the cash-up, we have to manually record the patient names and account for them in the next cash-up period. This can result in payments being split across reports and makes reconciliation more difficult.

We recently Migrated and with that our plan types migrated. During this though some additional plan types were created where dentally had picked up plan and payor types from our old system or old inactive plan types were bought over. We are now multisite with 3/5 sites live so far. We now have over 30 Inactive plan types, which will likely end up being 40-50 with our next two sites going live and no option to delete them entirely. So now when i’m using reporting filter funtions I now have a huge list of inactive plans on there. If this could be added as a function or at least for Dentally support to be able to delete payment plan types 😊 

Does anyone know if theres an option for no email address. It keeps asking on the tablet but some pts simply don’t have an email for correspondance cheers

Is it possible to not be able to look at the appointment book and drag down a session and allocate to ‘private only” etc? I can add a 30mins “annual leave” block but cant add a 30mins Private only? not without going into zones and creating a new zone for that 30mins which is a bite time consuming, thanks Ro

I’m trying to create a separate waiting list in Dentally for patients who have failed to attend, as I do not want them mixed in with our regular short-notice list.The aim is to keep these patients on a separate list so they can only be offered appointments that become available at short notice, while keeping our main short-notice list for patients with a good attendance record.Is there a way to create a custom waiting list for this purpose in Dentally? If so, could someone point me towards the correct setup or permissions required?

Hi im having issues with my patients completing their MH via the link, however it only collects half the information which means when they arrive we still have to give them one to complete to have their details such as address, acquisition source, all of that, it just doubles up. Is there a way we can just use our own medical history and send to patients?

Some suggestions for better PR forms:Populate a list of family member’s names for the “If you are signing for the patient give details below: Name (in CAPITALS)” field using registered family members Have a better list of common relationships for the “Relationship to patient” field eg mother, father, step mother, grandma, Sister, foster carer, carer etc Allow patients to select their exemption themselves directly on the PR form Drop the first screen confirming patient details ...just make the PR form interactive Require baby due date for baby in last 12 months exemption Force selection of  under 18 years of age for children (and prevent selection of any other exemption all of which are invalid for children) Require HC3 “amount” for HC3 certificate exemptions Allow choosing the date of acceptance for backdating FR forms (to allow correcting exemptions in the past)

Hi Dentally Support Team,I would like to request an improvement to the patient alert pop-up system.Currently, when opening a patient file with multiple alerts, it is difficult to quickly see the most relevant updates. It would be incredibly helpful if you could add a feature or setting that automatically sorts these pop-ups in chronological order, showing the newest alerts first.This change would allow our team to see the most recent and critical information immediately upon opening a patient record, improving both clinic efficiency and patient care.Thank you for considering this update.Best regards,Rohin Patel

We had a pt today who arrived at the wrong time for his appt...12pm arrival for a 3.30 booked appt. Pt just took a seat.As its self check in, the system simply checked him in. Is there anything can be done so if the pt arrives early or late...its flags up to see reception ????

We are finding that sometimes whilst patients are actively using the concierge app to complete forms, a message comes up asking if they are still there, even though they are actively typing? Can the timing of the message be extended to only come up if the form is left idol for a long period?

It would be amazing if somehow, instead of listing the connected scanners with their long serial numbers, because we use 3 printers/scanners at reception alone, we have renamed these locally on each of our PC’s.I’m wondering if a similar feature would be possible so that we could rename each scanning device in the list so we can differentiate between “Reception 1” “Reception 2” printers/scanners etc instead of clicking the correct serial number each time.

I am a new user to Dentally and love the pocket chart but I am surprised there is no streamlined way to do a full periodontal diagnosis with the BPE.  This was a feature on SOE and allowed for easy comparison over the years.

It would be ideal if we could scan documents within the software so documents can be scanned on patient file and immediately uploaded. Like on SOE.

However, we're unable to determine how this value is derived from the API response.Could you please clarify the following?Is there a field in the Treatment Plan Item API (or its metadata) that represents the same Total Amount displayed in the Practitioner Activity Report? If not, what is the recommended approach to calculate this value so that it matches the report exactly? We went live with our online booking some 6 weeks ago.On average we’re getting only 3-4 online bookings a week despite having the portal link in all our recall emails and reminder emails and mainly from existing NHS patients.  More importantly, we’re seeing a large number of these patients making multiple bookings and failing to turn up for any of the appointments.  Why does the portal allow users to book more than one of the same appointment without warning them to either cancel or rescedule an appointment? There is no feature to switch off online booking for persisten offenders, only an option to prevent further appointments in general (in the patient’s details tab) which is not the same thing as I might be happy for them to call and my staff book them inWhat is the solution here because I can see this becoming an issue as not only are we seeing wasted appointment slots but multiple text msgs which just add up?

Hey!Is there anyway to turn off the DOB and First initial of surname to log onto Dentally Portal?It is very time consuming especially when reception is busy.  Patients shouldn’t have to log back in to sign part 2 of their NHS form / estimates etc.I understand having to initially do it on arrival but it is excessive and time consuming having to log them in again just for a quick signature.
