Is there any possibility that when our SMS recalls, reminders or any text message sent from Dentally that instead of just displaying our allocated mobile number that it appears as our practice name? Much like when Dentally sends us our 2FA SMS it shows up as ‘DENTALLY’ and not a random mobile number.

This will help practices limit the amount of characters needed per SMS by not having to sign off as their practice name each time. Also, I’ve noticed our staff occasionally send SMS’s and sign off as their first names, which if the patient hasn’t saved the number as our practice, it may just come across as from a random person.

My apologies, I thought Dentally’s 2FA came through as ‘DENTALLY’ but it doesn’t. I got mixed up with Dental Referrals coming up as ‘DENTREF’ , but other businesses like your bank also have this feature.

Hey @FranBo!

Showing your practice name as the SMS sender would require an alphanumeric sender ID. Those are one-way by design, which means patients cannot reply by SMS. We know most practices rely on two-way texting for things like confirmations and cancellations, that’s why we don’t offer alphanumeric sender IDs at the moment.

We are also exploring richer messaging options such as WhatsApp, which would give you a named profile and two-way messaging. Nothing to announce yet, but I’ll keep this thread updated. 😊
