Good afternoon everyone.Could I make a request that the automated correspondence that uses the first name field for patients be changed so that it uses the preferred name instead?We have several patients (as I’m sure most practices do!) who either use their middle name routinely and some who use a completely different name, although they may not have officially changed it. Some of these patients then get offended when they suddenly receive a text in their “dead name”, especially as I’ve edited all our templates to uses the preferred name option.Thank you

As a practice, we find the option of lunch and tea breaks being in the diary as movable appointment blocks.Our superiors want us to use the break blocks that are fixed in place when added as part of the clinicians schedule. Would it be possible to make these moveable from the diary page, without having to delete and re-add for a different time? We often shift the breaks to fit around patients.Hope that makes sense.

Hi there, Hopefully in this platform we will be more lucky.For over two years now we have requested to your support team via chat if there is anyway to develop a feature able to run a report that identifies missing dental notes after a visit has been charted and the patient attended, but no notes have been recorded.This is a common feature in other dental softwares but not in Dentally. Sadly today we learned that none of that feedback and requests was passed to your your product team. All fingers crossed throughout this channel to be listen at! 

So following the Was Not Brought Policy that was implemented in 2021 we marked children as Was Not Brought (WNB), since moving over to Dentally we have noticed that if we mark children as WNB they disappear out of the diary. For now we are putting FTA but is there a way to put WNB and them still be in the diary for rec to follow up.

Hi I had AI notes button on my Dentally log in previously. I disabled it cos I did not have a microphone back then. I now have a new microphone, Could you reintroduce the AI note button on the case note page please? Many thanks 

Hi I tried to follow the instruction to add another option for adding a new ethnicity under  the patient detail tab.however, it did not work. could you have a look please? cheers 

 It would be extremely useful to be able to colour code the different “kinds of correspondance” as it makes it immediately obvious without having to change the filter what is what.  Example: If we attach an incoming referral from the hospital or another dental practice, it would be nice to just scroll down to the latest e.g. red colour knowing that it is a referral, it saves time and navigating would be immedate with less clicks here and there.  Seconds matter when we’re moving around the system It would be useful if we can FORCE a clinician to look at an important “kind of correspondance” when the patient next comes for an exam.  Example: An important referral from the hospital has been added to the correspondance.  Rather than having to create yellow sticky notes etc, if we want to make sure that the dentist sees and does not miss the referral during the next “exam” appointment, it would be nice to add a feature to “upload new document” screen

It would be great if missed appointments changed colour rather than the little x, it would make missed appointments easier to see in the diary, helping the reception team distinguish them from attended appointments

Is there any way of chasing up responses to support tickets?we have some which are open for months.  no response to prompts for updates…   

Any pointers on creating visually appealing html email templates in Dentally? I’ve tried pasting in some basic html email templates but the styling gets thrown out when I toggle between code view and the visual editor. 

Hi there, We would like an option as part of the medical history flow, where we could duplicate and update a previous medical history. Patients will frequently have a minor update needed to their medical history. It would save time if we could duplicate the last medical history and then edit, with any recent updates. Rather than having to complete the entire history each time. Thanks,Tom

If so, please ignore!Is it possible to please look into Dentally automatically closing off bank holidays?  It’s time consuming to have to close off every individual diary for each bank holiday and also make sure this is done well in advance (at least a year!) to ensure no appointments get booked in.  Many thanks for your considerationKateBurgess Hill Dental

Hi team,I’m excited to see the now “Short notice” function on the diary. However, I’d like to see one additional function/filter added to the waitlist/short notice function.Many, if not all patients, have days/times they are available - eg Tuesday afternoon (PM), Friday morning (AM).Could we have this added to the waitlist/short notice function, ie a patient can tell us what days they are normally available. This could be for example, tick boxes eg ticking the boxes for the days of the week a patient is normally available.If this data is captured, it makes it a LOT easier for the reception to know who they can call to fill a slot, rather than calling a whole list of patients. the “AM/PM “ would be a further enhancement, but at a minimum we really do need an idea of what days of the week patients are available. Can dentally be linked and integrate with VOIP phones? This would hopefully allow caller ID to be displayed, ie when Mr Daniel Smith calls the practice, with his patient file already in Dentally, his name would pop up on the display to give a personal touch.VOIP also can allow a phone transcript to be created and so when Daniel Smith calls, a text file would get saved under the correspondence tab in dentally when the call took place and the details.Is this possible, easily done?

Hi Could I please reiterate the need for improvement to setting up new patients when it concerns a family of patients.  The process can be quite long when setting up a family for the first time.  Is it possible when completing one adult (or a child) to select a feature to add multiple other people on a pop up dialogue box which asks for just their NHS number, first name, last name, title and date of birth (with the tool automatically assuming that the address, mobile, email address will be the same for children as the primary account holder / parent? Separately, I have mentioned this many times previously, but there remains a bug in Dentally when adding a family member to an existing account in the patient details screen, it copies across the parent’s email address but not the mobile phone number which doesnt make sense.  Please correct this because otherwise we have to keep switching screens.

Good morning all,Regarding cancelled appointments - these used to automatically ping back to the ‘unbooked appointments’ list when the appointment was cancelled which was really helpful, particularly if a patient was not rebooking straight away.  Also any ‘notes’ added to the appointment with more info about the cancellation was automatically removed when it got placed back in the unbooked appointments list.  This facility seems to have gone which means a cancelled appointment now just sits in the patient appointment list.  When the patient subsequently calls to rebook, the receptionist has to search in the patient appointment list for it and add it to the clipboard (which also retains all the notes about the previous cancellation), rebook the appointment and then delete all the cancelled appointment info in the notes.  Our reception team would love it if the original arrangement for how the cancelled appointment is shown is reinstated!  What’s the chances please?!

Hi Product team,I need to flag a potential flaw/drawback of the online booking portal that we have found. We’ve found that the messaging/design of the Portal is most likely losing us new patient bookings. The good news is, I believe it can be fixed fairly simply.This wouldn’t be only us experiencing this issue, it would apply to other practice also, especially smaller practices with less potential capacity for total patients to be seen.Context/Problem statementWe've had a significant growth in organic search traffic and Google ads traffic. Hi Dentally team,We noticed that our existing patients couldn’t book a recall online, so we tried to correct this.However, in our practice, we have the patients of the lead dentist being seen by our OHT with adult scope.Therefore we had to ‘unlock’ the practitioner, as for the lead dentist’s patients, it wasn’t letting patients book online.Unfortunately, even ‘unlocking’ the practitioner does not solve the problem as when you get to the “Choose a date & time” page, there is no filter to choose the practitioner - or no way to link our lead practitioner’s patients with the OHT for recalls.I imagine if I leave the portal as it stands, we will have to manually check every single recall booking from the portal, to ensure its with the correct practitioner - and ask patients to move to a different timeslot as they may have picked the wrong practitioner.Can we have help with updating the portal so that  Dentists with an OHT ca

Hi Is it possible to introduce some “undo” features around Dentally.  Some examples include:Notification as per the below dialogue box - could we please have the details of the appointment that is being deleted i.e. name of patient, time of existing appointment, appointment type etc?Rationale for this: In a hurry we might have right clicked and selected the wrong patient to delete so getting a visual confirmation by amending the text in the warning message will ensure we havent deleted the wrong person.  Should be fairly straight forward to programatically do this.  When dropping patients from the clipboard to the calendar, we might accidently let go too quickly and drop it on wrong clinician or lose it somewhere if we’ve forgotten the name (it happens wh

Feature to stop diary jumping down to the red line on accessing the calendar

Hi, I had several practitioners ask if we can change certain NHS treatment categories. One example is for the code 716 Denture Reline. it is classed as Other treatment. Would that have an impact on the claims being sent if we change it? I was under the impression that NHS codes are automatically updated by Dentally as per NHS guidance. My change would be done for several sites so I wanted to ask for a second opinion.  

Hi ,could I suggest a new feature regarding copy and paste previous notes from 3 or 6 months, when patient have had  attended an appt for dental check up or hygienist visit.At the moment it takes time to highlight everything and paste it .I think lots of clinicians would benefit from it. Many thanks and kind regards,Ewelina Bach

Hello,  We use MeditLink to scan our patients and send work to labs - such a simple process, i saw on this  article you link with Medit but cannot find any guide on how to do this. We need our patients dentally files to link to Meditlink to save having information in two places.
