I have brought this up several times but it is a huge hinderance not being able to see NHS charge for each item next to the item in the treatment plan. It makes it very difficult to discuss costs per appointment or even answer simple questions during appointments. EXACT has the NHS cost and fee next to each charted item and the total cost charted for each appointment in the treatment plan as you chart. This is hugely helpful.

We’ve historically used Open Treatment Plans very effectively for diary utilisation and identifying outstanding treatment opportunities. However, one key limitation we’ve encountered in Dentally is the inability to efficiently filter and identify specific unbooked treatment items within open treatment plans. At present, if we try to search or filter by treatment type, the system also returns closed, completed, and historical treatment records. This makes it extremely difficult to isolate treatment that is still outstanding and genuinely unbooked.Having the ability to filter specifically for:Open and incomplete treatment only By treatment type/procedure With no future appointment bookedwould significantly improve diary management and operational efficiency. This would be particularly valuable for:Filling last-minute diary gaps with appropriate treatment Managing clinician-specific availability Supporting visiting clinicians who only attend for certain procedures Improving utilisation of o

Hi, I have a couple of large reports that are not fully loading and constantly spinning. How do I stop / cancel them so I can start again? Many thanksd

Would it be possible to create the % of unstable pocket depths on the perio chart as well as bleeding, which you have recently added. I have to physically get the calculator out to work out pockets of 4mm bleeding on probing or above.I’m sure lots of hygienists and periodontists would appreciate thisThank you

Has anyone else experienced anyone booking an appointment via the dentally app in an appointment slot that doesn’t exist? E.g. Tom has an appointment for 60 minutes ( 2pm-3pm) but it’s allowed Tim to book an appointment at 2.30pm via the dentally app (with the same clinician on the same day)

Is there a way to turn off this annoying new feature ‘ready to book’ or have it automatically toggled on by default? Its just another button to press before reception can book pts in.

Hi new to dentally (over the last 10 months) and i couldn't find this question in archive. When writing notes i am finding the cursor seems to jump around, occasionally i’ll be editing my template and the cursor would randomly have jumped to a different line, or end of the line or a different position and its making note writing difficult as i am consistently having to correct its positioning. I have tried multiple keyboards and wired to see if it was a keyboard issues but it seems to be a constant problem with all surgeries here. Is this a known bug with the library used? Is there any fix for this? Thanks in anticipation. Sim

Hello, We are a group of practices from Scotland, that have just moved over to Dentally from SOE Exact and I was looking to feedback some features that I think are crucial and would really appreciate being explored.   When submitting an NHS treatment plan, could the software please be altered to allow number of teeth, restorations needed, BPE and radiographs taken be pulled automatically from the charting as it previously.  Can the display of the pages have improvements when on the chart tab. Could the sidebar be adjusted to be made wider, allowing for more text to be seen. In addition if the treatment tab at the bottom or base chart be allowed to be moved up or down to allow more visibility.  I would also really like to request if the software design can be made more dyslexic and colour blind friendly with tabs being spaced out more, headings bolded or in bubbles. Difficult to process all the information.  Calendar side window display feature to be added on like on SOE where we can be

Really disappointed at the lack of effort in adapting the software for Scottish users. The software has clearly been optimised for English users privately or in the UDA system and while we pay the same for the same software, it is shamefully lacking in functionality and clunkier than older softwares especially for use within the Scottish NHS SDR.

I am trying to fill out patient’s occupation in line with the notes audits we do, which covers occupation being listed. I am finding it hard to select and option for all patients as the occupation is a drop down menu of set ideas of an occupation. There is a lot of occupations that aren’t on the list, nor have something similar. How do other people manage this, and doe we feel as though it should be a free entry section, rather than a selection of prewrittten options. A lot of patients don’t want to give this information, so would be handy to have an option to put this down too.

Hi  Does anyone know if Dentally hold a training session for new practices, either in person or remotely? I am trying to set up a training session for a new practice were 90% of the staff haven’t used Dentally before. I was hoping to hold an afternoon training session with all staff members. Is this something Dentally will offer?

Today we had a medical emergency at the practice. On Exact we had a button we could press which would alert all clinicians logged in of an emergency situation on their computers. There is no feature on dentally yet, therefore my suggestion would be if we could one day have a feature where we can alert all clinicians of such a situation, as there were multiple clinicians unaware of this today whilst they were in their rooms. Vas - Receptionist Smile Dental Care Gosport

I like having the pop ups but it takes time to hide each one when there are several and they don’t hold a lo of visible text

I have found that when I am viewing a patient’s details, if i click on another patient through the “Recently Viewed Patients” section, it will keep stuff the same like the patient ID, and other things like dropdown selections such as who their dentist is etc. Most of the time its data that has been changed on patient X for example, then you view patient Y and those details yoyve changed are on their profile, however if you refresh the page, you will find these changes have not been saved onto anyone else you view after (phew). But it can create a lot of confusion for multiple people and multiple reasons, are we aware of this mini-bug and is it being worked on to improve? Is there anything internally we can do, any settings to change to make that run smoother? Obviously when loading a patient, refreshing the page is easy to do to make sure its all correct, but its not ideal.Im not sure if anyone else has encountered this or reported it but any feedback would be appreciated on this topic!

Hi everyone,The team here at Dentally is working on some exciting updates to the Clinical Notes experience, and we want to make sure it works perfectly for your daily workflows. We're looking for a few clinicians to get early access to these changes. In exchange, we’d love to hop on a quick video call (30 mins) to hear your honest thoughts on how it feels and what could be improved. If you’d like to see the new experience early and help influence the final version, please comment below or like the post and I’ll send you a direct message!Looking forward to hearing from you,Roxanne Leitão & Amy Baxter

I am carrying out NHS treatment have selected partial acrylic denture treatment and selected the correct upper teeth and I am also making a lower denture but when I go to submit it says 2 lower dentures which obviously looks odd it being marked and may flag us for not making any upper partial dentures When I look in the coding it seems there are no treatment codes configured to send NHS data for upper partial dentures. Is this the same for every practice and all Dentally practices are only sending data saying they are making only lower partial dentures or is is just my site there is no code configured for upper partial dentures.? There is a distinction and extra codes for upper and lower full acrylic or chrome dentures but not for partial ones.I am guessing this is an oversight that may want correcting for ALL NHS Dentally sites ? unless I am the only that has noticed this?

It would be really helpful to be able to message multiple people simultaneously and create a chat with multiple people when instant messaging

HI Dentally, 3 of our clinics have multi floors, and not all rooms are wheelchair accessable. Wondering if their is any plan currently to have a WHEELCHAIR option available on dentally, that would (ideally) include a blue wheelchair icon on the apt book, beside name to highlight.  Currently our team are adding in ‘wheelchair’ / ‘downstairs only’ into the Nickname, so it comes up on apt book.  Our dentists alternate between rooms, so this helps us stop issues, where a pt needs to be seen in a certain room, etc. . A simple icon like the lab icon which is now on the apt book, would be a massive help.

Good morning,I can’t remember if I have already requested this! If so, please ignore! Is it possible to please look into Dentally automatically closing off bank holidays?  It’s time consuming to have to close off every individual diary for each bank holiday and also make sure this is done well in advance (at least a year!) to ensure no appointments get booked in.  Many thanks for your considerationKateBurgess Hill Dental

Feature to stop diary jumping down to the red line on accessing the calendar

So following the Was Not Brought Policy that was implemented in 2021 we marked children as Was Not Brought (WNB), since moving over to Dentally we have noticed that if we mark children as WNB they disappear out of the diary. For now we are putting FTA but is there a way to put WNB and them still be in the diary for rec to follow up.

Good morning all,Regarding cancelled appointments - these used to automatically ping back to the ‘unbooked appointments’ list when the appointment was cancelled which was really helpful, particularly if a patient was not rebooking straight away.  Also any ‘notes’ added to the appointment with more info about the cancellation was automatically removed when it got placed back in the unbooked appointments list.  This facility seems to have gone which means a cancelled appointment now just sits in the patient appointment list.  When the patient subsequently calls to rebook, the receptionist has to search in the patient appointment list for it and add it to the clipboard (which also retains all the notes about the previous cancellation), rebook the appointment and then delete all the cancelled appointment info in the notes.  Our reception team would love it if the original arrangement for how the cancelled appointment is shown is reinstated!  What’s the chances please?!Many thanksKate

Our clinic accepts government vouchers - these patients don't get billed for their care as the invoices have to be made out to the government. It would save us a huge amount of time if dentally had a 3rd party billing option as we currently manually duplicate all these vouchers into another billing software to issue invoices.

being able to book joint appointments ie exam/hyg would be great  and it show as joint in diarys

Hi guys, We have prev used Exact and were able to do Denplan assessments through it (had a Denplan tab) in patients details etc. How do we now do that in Dentally?
