It would be extremely useful to be able to colour code the different “kinds of correspondance” as it makes it immediately obvious without having to change the filter what is what. Example: If we attach an incoming referral from the hospital or another dental practice, it would be nice to just scroll down to the latest e.g. red colour knowing that it is a referral, it saves time and navigating would be immedate with less clicks here and there. Seconds matter when we’re moving around the system It would be useful if we can FORCE a clinician to look at an important “kind of correspondance” when the patient next comes for an exam. Example: An important referral from the hospital has been added to the correspondance. Rather than having to create yellow sticky notes etc, if we want to make sure that the dentist sees and does not miss the referral during the next “exam” appointment, it would be nice to add a feature to “upload new document” screen or any of the “kind of correspondance” s
Has there been any known issues with the patient portal this week? We have had several patients who have been able to access the portal but when clicking on medical history/FP17 forms they will not open. Our Dental Nurse manager tried from a couple of the patient phones too and she could not open the forms.
Is there any possibility of adding the Dental Activity codes to the NHS Treatment categories listed in the Treatments & Plans Settings page?It would greatly help practices to see what codes are actually attached to each treatment item - rather than us guessing and just having to identify and fix each invalid NHS submission. For example: Antibiotic items prescribed (9358)My conversations with support are long, and then takes extra time to submit claims that we now need done promptly for all our performers to get paid for care packages in a timely manner. It seems such a simple fix would take minutes to implement - and help all practices (certainly in Wales with the changes post-April)
Hi @Hebe Lowen @Saymon Do you know if Dentally has anything on their roadmap for the Denplan Data Exchange link that we had in in Exact. We have been told that we have the most amount of Denplan patients in the area so managing our Dentally database with any changes on the Denplan Dashbaord can be quite a cumbersome task. I know it means each company talking to each other but I wondered if any progress had been made to streamline our admin?Tom
Hi there, Hopefully in this platform we will be more lucky. For over two years now we have requested to your support team via chat if there is anyway to develop a feature able to run a report that identifies missing dental notes after a visit has been charted and the patient attended, but no notes have been recorded. This is a common feature in other dental softwares but not in Dentally. Sadly today we learned that none of that feedback and requests was passed to your your product team. All fingers crossed throughout this channel to be listen at!
The xero integration is great and we were so relieved that this was a feature on Dentally, however since turning the xero integration on, we have since learnt it has some flaws.Payments can’t be amended - This is not realistic & as much as we’d like to ensure payments are added onto the patient’s account correctly, this is not always possible. Not being able to amend payments once they’ve been entered creates a huge issue.Daily automation - my suggestion is for there to be a delay with the uploading of the data from Dentally to Xero (even 48 hours). This will allow enough time for any amendments to be made & in order to ensure the accounts are correct.
Good afternoon,I’m interested to see the launch of the new Dentally Kiosk to allow for self check in. However as we have 2 waiting rooms, it’s not really viable for us at the moment. Are there any plans to develop Kiosk further so that it is able to direct to more than one waiting room?Interested to hear your thoughts. Many thanksKateBurgess Hill Dental
Hello,It would be useful if the date bar at the top of the diary would have an option to move forward by not just a week, 3 months and 6 months, but also just by a month (as per attached screenshot)Thank you!
Hey everyone! Did you know we’ve recently introduced some exciting updates to make Personal treatment plan templates even more customisable? Now, they’ll retain details like custom pricing, clinical notes, and appointment specifics, all tailored to your exact needs! We’d love to hear how you’ve been using these templates to streamline your charting process. Are there any features you’d like to see added? Let us know how you’re making the most of this update or if you have any ideas for future improvements! 👇 Head over to the blog for more details on the update.
I’ve forgotten to select unscheduled care and accidentally submitted a course of treatment as band 2. What’s the best way to resubmit as unscheduled care? Thanks in advance
Hello, when it comes to any change to the API, can there be communcation on either the community site or the developer site of any change to API? as a recent example, there was some underlying changes made to the Appointments API on Monday (3rd November), which caused our ETL to timeout repeatedly.
Hi Dentally,When will we will be able to intergrate with Hot Doc? Thanks.
It would be very helpful if there was a easier way to export patient correspondence having to print screen and copy and paste everything individually is so time consuming , Please create a export call log feature / export sms feature / export email feature same as you can export clinical history

Hello, just a few suggestions It would be useful if the information box that appears when you hover over patient’s name, would have notification if NHS PR form needs to be signed (currently, it notifies us when a medical history form needs to be filled out, but for NHS forms we must check every patient’s nhs tab in their file). Additionally, it would be great if the information box also showed patient’s NHS exemption there. If patient has two back to back appointments booked with different clinicians, It would be useful if notification popped up when checking them in for the first appointment, notifying us that there is a second appointment and asking if we want to check patient in for second appointment as well.
Trying to calculate patient chair time for an ongoing course of treatment it would be really useful to be able to generate a longer time period than having to do 12 monthly reports for one years length. Totally impractical
Hi, I have charted watch on a tooth, it comes up on the chart, then when I do treatment over the area the watch was charted why is the watch still there over the treatment? Treatment should overlay the watch to show i am not watching this anymore. Why is this not the case? How can i change this?
With the new notes feature, there is nowhere to leave myself notes/reminders for appointments where I can see my reminder next to the appointment when the patient comes in for the appointment (Eg use kalzinol liner deep cavity/remind patient to bring updated medications).Adding a line under appointment where I can leave little reminders like this would be very helpful.
At the moment, tasks don’t support a threaded back and forth conversation, so it’s hard to keep task-related messages in one place. It would be really helpful to have a private conversation thread that stays linked to the task, visible only to the task creator and the person it’s assigned to.Use case:Creator assigns a task and needs to ask a quick question or share an update Assignee replies in the same thread, so the full history stays with the task No need to use internal chat for task-specific messages
HiCould I please request improvements to the following: Lab related featursLab work received - nice feature but the green lab bottle does not appear on the calendar in some circumstances. I’ve played around with it and whilst it appears for patients who are booked in and have no long preferred name, I’m finding that where the name is long or we have additional comments in the preferred name and we want to set a short appointment time of 5-10 min, the green bottle will not display. The only way I can make it display is by increasing the appointment duration to 20 min which we dont need that long. I am able to book some 15 min appointments but only where the patient name is short. Perhaps text wrapping or something is preventing the lab icon from appearing A logical extension to the lab work received is to have the ability to write somewhere which lab we have sent the work to (if we use and have several different labs). Yes I know we can write it in the yellow sticky or in the chart
Hey everyone! 👋 We're currently looking at ways to improve how online booking and appointment reasons are configured, aiming for an easier workflow with more control over your appointment settings.I’m looking to recruit practice managers to help test this new workflow, so you can feed back on our designs and share your insight to help us shape the experience before launch. If you’d be happy to spend around an hour of your time exploring this new workflow and sharing your feedback, please leave a comment below and I’ll follow up with a meeting invite. Thanks in advance!
Our portal just updated to the new clinical notes today. Old clinical notes have disappeared from history tab. Some are there and some are not. I have narrowed it down and it seems the clinical notes that were typed on line items loaded from “Plan templates” have disappeared. I have checked all my exam notes over the last month, and all gone!! I load my consultations, exams, bitewings, OHI etc from plan templates and they are all gone! The random line items such as Periapicals that were loaded from “treatment list” are all there. I mostly do orthodontics and with the clinical notes gone for these consultations, I am left in a position where I cannot send patients treatment plans and consent forms as I have no notes to refer to.I am hoping this is a temporary glitch and the notes are backed up somewhere and can be loaded back on?
I have brought this up several times but it is a huge hinderance not being able to see NHS charge for each item next to the item in the treatment plan. It makes it very difficult to discuss costs per appointment or even answer simple questions during appointments. EXACT has the NHS cost and fee next to each charted item and the total cost charted for each appointment in the treatment plan as you chart. This is hugely helpful.
Hello. As the years are going by, the list of paid invoices on patients notes is getting longer and longer, meaning the location of the “Take Payment” button is moving further and further down the page.My suggestion would be to move it to the top, near/next to the “New Invoice/Statement of Account/Bad Debtor” area.I have mentioned this to my superiors in the past who have told me they have submitted it to Dentally but no changes as yet.
Is there a feature were appointment confirmation can be automatically sent once booked in diary
