When we initially moved over to dentally we had put a feature request in for a month view of the diary, that could be filtered by clinician. We had this feature on our old management software, this allowed a straight forward easy view of how busy the diaries were for each clinician. It also allowed reception to see white space very quickly in order to book appointments, and to see any closed days.

I understand dentally has the utilisation analytics, which we also had previously. 

I understand we cant use this to book but it at least gives us some idea of how busy diaries are. 

My request for this would be then simply add the ability to go forward month by month in the utilisation feature, rather than just allowing us to see the next 24 days.

I’ve seen the suggestion already and it’s consistent with the feedback we’re getting, so you’re not alone! 

I can see how a simple month view per clinician to spot white space and closed days is really useful.

Right now, Utilisation gives a quick feel for the next couple of weeks, and for a month snapshot you can use Reports → Appointments per month with a Practitioner filter; closed days live in Settings → Sites → Calendar.

I’ve had a chat with one of our product designer to make sure she’s aware of your request to either get a page month-by-month in Utilisation or provide a read-only month calendar you can filter by clinician. Our design team is already working on how past utilisation is calculated, and we’d like to look at the longer look-ahead next. I’ll update this thread when we have something concrete 😊. If you have a preference on layout (e.g. colour white space, grey out closures), drop a note and I’ll feed it into the design work.
