I was looking at the Dentally NHS report and I was wondering why does the Dentally UDA report differ from the compass year end report in regards to UDA and UOA count. Would there be any reason for a discrepancy there?

Hey @ac0569463 👋

Yes, a small mismatch is quite common. This is because Dentally’s NHS UDA report counts by the completion date of the course of treatment (that’s when UDAs are allocated), while Compass year-end shows what’s been scheduled/credited to the financial year on their side. So claims that straddle your date filters (e.g. completed on 31 March, received/scheduled later) or are processed late/adjusted can land differently between the two.

You can run a few checks that usually explain most of the gaps:

  • Make sure you’re comparing the same financial year window (Compass uses FY scheduling rules and cut-offs, e.g. completions by 31 March received by 31 May count to that FY).

  • Look for pending/queried/late claims. Compass only credits once processed; late submissions (>2 months after completion) get 0 UDAs

  • If you’ve got a lot of in-flight courses, run UDA Forecast to spot anything at risk of missing the two-month window.

  • For UOAs (ortho), allocation rules differ by claim type/date (assessment vs appliance fitted), which can also shift counts.

Hope this helps!
