HI We have been using dentally since January, and having difficulty integrating the NHS referrals onto Dentally, we are having to flit in-between SOE and dentally . Is anyone else having issues or can advice us on how to refer through dentally?

I’ve asked one of our customer success manager who deals with EXACT → Dentally transitions to share any insights he may have on this. In the meantime, Dentally supports NHS referrals, so once it’s set up you shouldn’t need to switch between SOE and Dentally.
Let me walk you through what’s needed to enable it:
One-time set-up (Level 4 Admin):

Go to Settings → Sites → Online Referrals.

Select your referrals provider.

Request/collect the API key from your provider.

Go to Settings → Sites → nYour site] → Referrals.

Paste the API key and Save.
Day-to-day:

Open the patient record → Referrals tab → New referral.

Pick the form, practitioner, and urgency, then Submit.

You can track status in Dentally; if you see an error, double-check the provider selection and API key in the site settings.
Here are also some common troubleshooting tips if you’re having issues:

No “Referrals” tab? The integration isn’t enabled yet or your user doesn’t have Level 4 (Administrator) permissions.

Region: NHS referrals is available for England/Wales.

Not ready to integrate? Add the specialist under Settings → Contacts (Specialist) and send the referral by letter/email from Dentally as a temporary workaround.
