Last 4 digits of a credit card number not being displayed in payments when needing to refund a deposit

Am I right in thinking that Dentally used to record the last 4 digits of a debit/credit card number when a payment was made on a patient’s account?

We use Dojo and the last 4 digits are stored in the payment history on the terminal but it is impossible for us to identify which patient that is for.

If we have to refund a patient who is not on the phone, or even if they are on the phone but have several cards and they cannot remember which card they used to pay a deposit or for a treatment that was done 1 year ago and has now failed, we need to ensure we are refunding back to the same credit card.

Whilst I understand why Dentally and many merchants do not want to store full credit card details for security, I think we should have the ability to record the last 4 digits of the card used to make a payment, in the accounts screen / payments.

Could you please propose this as a feature request if its not already there?
