How to search for a referral

At the moment there isn’t a practice-wide search in Dentally for items on the Referrals tab (including by LAN/URN) unless you’ve saved their this referral code and manually placed it somewhere else in the patient record).

I’ve flagged this thread to our Product Manager as we’ve received similar feedback. I can’t promise timelines, but more detail from you (and others) would really help us shape the solution 😊:

• Where would you want to search from (global search, a “Referrals” list, within the Referrals tab)?

• What fields matter most (LAN/URN, patient, status, destination, date range, clinician)?

• Is the main task finding the patient from a rejection email, or pulling up the specific referral quickly during admin time?

• Roughly how often does this come up for you?

I think I’d probably search from “Reports” for a specific LAN number, as our external log is anonymised. This would be the quickest way of finding a particular referral. We don’t use it often as we probably refer about 2 - 3 patients per week on average, but it would also speed up the process of following up referrals to make sure they have been received and actioned.
