Hi @Hako 👋

Welcome to Dentally! What you’re describing in EXACT (the recall pop‑up right after finishing treatment) works a little differently in Dentally, because recalls are handled through recall markers and the Recalls settings, rather than an automatic prompt.

In Dentally, recall intervals are set in the patient’s record, and the system uses those intervals to generate recall markers and keep track of when the patient is due. You can update a patient’s recall interval (for example, 6 months) through Patient Details using the recall preferences. This is the official method for setting recall timing.

If the recall isn’t showing on the appointment tab the way you expect, recalls only trigger based on certain criteria, including the last appointment type and the patient’s set recall interval. Dentally uses recall markers to determine when the patient is next due, and these appear in the patient’s Recalls tab and in the Recalls report.

So while Dentally doesn’t show an automatic pop‑up immediately after finishing treatment, the workflow is:

  1. Set the recall interval in the patient’s recall preferences (6 months, 12 months, etc.).
  2. Dentally will then generate the recall marker and use it in the Recalls tab and Recalls report.

If the 6‑month interval isn’t appearing as expected on the appointment tab, it usually means the recall marker hasn’t been generated yet based on the rules Dentally uses (which depend on recall lead time and appointment type).

Hope this helps :)
