+3I’m advised that Dentally does not currently support Chinese characters in Letters and Estimates.
I can paste in my Chinese characters. I can hit save. But if I press Preview, it becomes a mess.
Has anybody found a work-around for this? I’d love to have our Chinese templates loaded and able to be used :)

Dentally’s current PDF engine only embeds standard Latin fonts at the moment, so Chinese characters simply get dropped at Preview time. I know it’s not ideal, but the only completely reliable way to deliver Chinese text today is to upload a pre-built PDF into the patient’s Correspondence:
1. Build & export your letter externally
• Create your Chinese templates in Word, Google Docs or any other program you use (with any merge fields you need).
• Export it as a PDF.
2. Upload into Dentally
• In the patient’s record, go to Correspondence → New Correspondence → Upload Document
• Select the PDF you just exported.
That PDF will then live in their record (and you can email it directly), with all the Chinese characters intact. I’ve also logged a feature request to add native Chinese font support in our PDF renderer, I’ll keep you posted on the progress 😊
