How to set up lenght for appointment reason

Hello, 

How do I change the default time for appointment reason? I can set them up and change the order however I am unable to find an option to change the default times, they are all set as 5 minutes which means we have to modify the time manually

Hi ​@Dorina, thanks for your question - it sounds like this could be related to your treatment code default times, or your default recall exam times. Given this might be specific to you and your practice’s setup, I’d suggest starting a chat in-app with our support team so they can look into your specific circumstances and identify what can be done.

You can start a chat by clicking the life ring icon in the bottom left of Dentally, and clicking ‘Contact Support’ - see this article for more details on how to start a chat. You can expect to receive a response from the support team very promptly, and they can look at your settings and help you to identify the issue/find a solution.

As a new user coming over from Exact. I have been astounded that it is not possible to allocate times for certain procedures being booked in. There are so many things that have to be done manually in Dentally and so much mouse movement dragging or changing appointment times manually. We have some occasional receptionists that provide cover and how are they meant to remember all the different times needed for booking an Adult exam which is longer than a child exam and different from a pain appointment. Especially when busy, we are finding sometimes we are just getting 5 mins booked for something that we need 20 mins for because reception is busy with others waiting to be seen or check in etc and the default for everything is only 5 mins. I can’t believe something like being able to set basic appointment times for reception to book (who are not clinically trained to know) for the appointment reason hasn’t already been set up when it was first programmed in. We can set it for treatment items but not for standard reasons.

Shouldn’t be in this day and age we have to have bits of paper stuck to the computer screen on reception telling them how long they need to manually adjust the appointment time for each appointment reason.

For those of a certain age as Victor Meldrew would have said. ‘I don’t believe it!’

Hi Carl, 100% agree, I did not even think to ask beforehand if this is something that is possible in dentally as to me this is common sense. I had the impression that dentally although a completely different products should be an improving version of SOE so I expected that that we should be able to do everything we were able to do in SOE and more. Of course, maybe sometimes in a slightly different manner but still able to do it, especially something basic like this
