Hi,

The new feature to “Block Contact” has been added.

I would just like to see if we can request that the button for this in the inbox be moved from being directly next to the archive button?

Reception desks have already raised it this morning that its asking for trouble being so close.

Many Thanks

Hi @Jordan thanks for your feedback!

Just for reference, even if you click the block button by accident, a window appears asking you to confirm the block - so you shouldn’t be able to accidentally block someone just by clicking it, you’d have to actively confirm! Hopefully that eases your concern?

Let me know if there’s any more context you want us to consider, thank you

I agree that the new block contact button is totally in the wrong place!

Also, in the last five years, we as a reception team, have never had to block any emails.

We would be very grateful if you moved it! Thank you

@SarahCD I can understand that this may not be a scenario your practice has experienced - but this feature was developed as some practices do encounter instances where they need to reduce their exposure to unwanted or abusive communications, or to comply with any legal obligations. We hope that most practices never have to experience this, but the feature was designed to support users who do.

However I have passed on your feedback about the positioning of the button to the product team, thank you for sharing your experience

FYI @Jordan another point which may be relevant to your original query - you can unblock anyone who is blocked accidentally, see the steps here 🙂

@Hebe Lowen Can you please include some examples of complying with legal obligations with reference to blocking - I am interested in this comment.  Thanks.
