Hi @LPascotdental 👋

Yes, confirmations can go out automatically! If a patient books via Online Booking, they’ll receive a confirmation straight away.

For appointments your team adds in the diary, switch on automatic SMS confirmations here: Settings → Practice → Patient Communication → “Enable SMS confirmations?”. Pick when to send (e.g. 1 day before), customise the message, and you’re done. Patients can reply YES/NO and Dentally will update the appointment status for you. (you’ll probably need a Level 4 Admin user for this)

If you want extra control (by site, reason, plan, or to pair Email + SMS), you can also set this up with Settings → Automation → + New Rule (Type: Appointment) and apply your conditions.

Hope this helps 😊

I may be misinterpreting this, but I believe the original post refers to when our team manually enters an appointment in the book, we would like Dentally to immediately send a txt saying ‘Your upcoming booking has been scheduled for date/time with Dr John.’ It isn’t a ‘reminder’ seeking confirmation, but just an on-the-spot notification that the booking has been made.

It is an easy way for patients to refer back to what their next appointment is, especially if they don’t have their phone/diary with them to record the booking while they’re checking out at reception.

Thanks @EliseSS, I’ve checked with the team and this request is very much on our radar. I’ll ensure your feedback is added to the list, and we’ll add more info here if there are any updates 😊
