Does anyone know if there is a way to search for something specifically in the previous notes? There was a search function on Exact where you could type, for example, ‘UR2’ and you could then see all notes mentioning the tooth. If this is not possible, could this function be added?

Hey @darcie2000 👋
There isn’t currently a dedicated search tool for filtering text within clinical notes in dentally, so you can’t keyword search for something like “UR2” across previous notes at the moment.

We’ve already received a similar suggestion from other practices, so I’ll feature this in our Community homepage and I’ll share it with our product team. A notes search would definitely make it easier to trace specific treatments or references.

If other practices would find this useful too, please add a comment or 👍 below so we can highlight the demand to the team.

Hi @darcie2000 and @Rich Ellingham - I’m Kev from the Product team at Dentally.

If you navigate to the History tab in the patient’s Chart screen, the previously charted work is also available there. In this view, there is also the option to see incomplete work and there is a search feature at the top right. This will look for keywords, such as the treatment nomenclature, notes content and tooth notation.

We recognise the benefit of moving this search with improvements into the Clinical Sidebar alongside the existing filters in that view for specifically treatments with notes and specific practitioners. We aim to bring this feature to the product in future, but for now the search is only available in the full History view.

I hope this helps.
