Morning! We moved over to Dentally on Tuesday and one of the clinicians took BW rads. They came up on the screen but then disappeared...does anybody know how or if we can retrieve them?

I can see one of your colleagues has already spoken to Support, so hopefully it’s sorted. If not, here is how to recover bitewings in Dentally Vision (Duerr VistaScan) without rescanning:

  1. Open the patient and start a new acquisition in Dentally Vision.

    Choose the correct type (for example 2BW) before proceeding.

  2. When the VistaEasy window shows Device ready, click the cog (Trouble-shooting), then Image Recovery (folder icon).

  3. Select the missing images, click Transfer Images, then in the pop-up click Image transfer (top left), then Close. The images should now appear in Dentally Vision to save and grade.

  4. If VistaEasy will not launch, you can browse to C:\ProgramData\Duerr\images\ and retry from there.

If you still cannot see them:

  • You may have been prompted earlier to Recover or Discard. If Discard was chosen, those images cannot be retrieved and you may want to reach out to our Support team for further help

  • Check the patient Audit → Dentally Vision tab to see whether images were added, deleted, or reassigned.

If you were mid-exam:

  • Open the patient in Vision and use Recovery or Resume exam to bring items from Scanned images back into the exam and upload.
