Hello all

Is it possible to link directly to a specific appointment type in the online booking.

For example, let’s say I have setup a New Patient Exam. Is it possible to have an online booking link that only enables that appointment specifically.

The use case would be:

  1. To include the New Patient Exam link in marketing correspondence (rather than a generic online booking link which requires choices by the patient).

  2. To create numerous New Patient Exams for specific practitioners and zones. We can then do the logic check ourselves (e.g. is the patient a young patient, old patient, interested in implants etc) and direct them to the correct booking link.

It is important the link would be isolated - its only possible to book the specified appointment type with that link, the patient cannot override the flow.

Thoughts?

Hey @aferguson024 👋

Interesting, I haven’t seen this suggested before. We had a slightly similar request relevant to multi-site but not like a single direct link.

At the moment, Dentally Portal doesn’t support a deep link that locks the flow to a single appointment type (e.g. “New Patient Exam only”). Patients still go through the standard category → type → time flow.

What you can do is use your Portal URL in campaigns (single-site) or direct links per location (multi-site). For recalls you can send a secure one-click link that jumps straight to booking (existing patients only): [patient_recall_booking_link]. And If you need to steer to specific clinicians, look at Practitioner locking and ensure the appointment is enabled only for those providers.

I’m happy to log this internally as a feature request and if any other practices see this, feel free to add a like or a comment below so we can feature it in the homepage 😊
