I’ve forgotten to select unscheduled care and accidentally submitted a course of treatment as band 2. What’s the best way to resubmit as unscheduled care?

Thanks in advance

Hi @DavidB, when you need to correct an error in an NHS submission, you can resubmit a claim. You can also withdraw it, clone it, correct the error and submit again, though this workflow is only recommended for significant changes eg. submission was for the wrong patient.

Don’t forget, you can get responses to questions like this more quickly by contacting our support team! If our AI support agent doesn’t have the answer, you can ask to speak to a human and you’ll get a response within minutes during working hours 😊

Thanks for your answer. Thats pretty long winded though.
Will it leave duplicate entries in the patient records?
Is there a technical reason why claims can’t be just be resubmitted as unscheduled care?

Thanks again

Hi @DavidB, the product team have confirmed that in addition to the withdrawal workflow I mentioned, another option is to resubmit the claim, which is slightly fewer steps. If it has already been processed, when you resubmit it we will automatically add a marker to indicate that this is a replacement of the previous claim reference number. I have amended my comment above to reflect this.

The withdrawal workflow does exist as well, but is recommended only for certain types of resubmissions eg. submissions sent for wrong patient. You are correct that if you follow this workflow for the same patient, it will create duplicate records.
