A suggestion for an automatic email/SMS to patients when their Medical History needs updating, instead of having to do them individually.

Hi @Maxine, I just wanted to confirm there is a way to do this already!

As @RegentStreet85 mentioned above, if your practice has access to Portal, you can send task reminders automatically. This sends an SMS the day before the appointment, to any patient whose medical history is due. They can complete the form at home on their device, reducing the admin burden on your team.

If you have access to Portal:

  1. Go to Patient Notifications → Notification types.
  2. Scroll to Task reminders → Settings.
  3. Toggle Task reminders on.

Once enabled, patients with an outstanding medical history task will get a secure SMS link to the Patient Portal the day before their appointment (reminders are prepared the day before they send, so the appointment will need to have been booked before that).

If you don’t have access to Portal, you can use automated appointment reminders, and you could include the medical history data tag [patient_medical_link] to automatically include a link to complete their medical history.

I hope this helps and one of these options provides what you need! You can always reach out via support chat too for any advice and guidance.

If you use Portal/online booking, this does auto send withhin the “tasks” SMS that goes to pts 2 days before. This captures a lot of our MH’s
