How are others charting IFAL cases? We still have patients visiting for hygiene and maintenance appointments, I’m curious how others use dentally for this.

Hi Stuart,

Thanks for raising this topic.  We are also very interested in understanding how others are currently charting IFAL cases and I’d love to get more info for our product team. Are you using a specific workaround (like recording details in the notes or utilising custom fields) for these cases?

It would be great to understand more about your approach as well and what specific details you’re aiming to capture. This might help us and others in the community discuss potential solutions or workarounds 😊

There appear to be multiple ways to do this with some personal approaches in the absence of a specific option.

Currently we’re showing an implant in each root location used and then either a pontic or an abutment in the crown position as required. We remove the extracted roots from the chart. It isn’t intuitive and takes some interpretation with the medical records to properly understand that these are not individual items - a simple diagram that would show the breadth of the full arch alongside the anchor points (of variable number) in the implants would help.

As another provider of FAs I’m interested in following this for a solution as well :)
