I agree this has been a big feature request for over a year, we have been on dentally a while now and all our practices make the same comments about the chat. 

I would have thought by now that something would have been looked into about this feature?

Also showing this feed as solved as you have provided an “Answer” when its just informing us you have passed over the feedback is fairly misleading. 

Surely only mark this as solved if the feature has been added or informed its something that wont change.

Thanks ​@Jordan you’re right, I have unmarked the question as solved, I wanted to “pin” it so others could see the update without scrolling, but can see that’s misleading - appreciate you calling that out!

I am waiting to hear back from the team with an update but have chased again

I'm Sean, Head of Product at Dentally.

Thank you all for taking the time to give us detailed feedback about this issue. The New Zealand based product team are working on the comms infrastructure at the moment. As part of that, we've been thinking about where to take communications and internal chat in the future (including some of the items covered in this thread).

We appreciate the feedback and would like to speak to 3-5 practices who are prepared to give us 20-30 minutes of your time to meet with a member of the product team (this would be UK morning as this is when our NZ team are available). Please drop a comment below or DM me if you'd like to participate in this research to help us shape how the internal chat could look. Thank you again for bearing with us.

Yes, I would be happy to participate, there are many suggestions for improvement on this area which I would be love to contribute on to make this feature better.

I would like to add one more feature to this request whilst it’s still fresh in my mind and I dont think its been mentioned.

 

Just like in the Dentally Support chat / Ellie chat, can we please have the ability to paste images in the chat after we take a screenshot.  A picture explains a thousand words as they say and sometimes its far easier and qicker just to paste a screenshot in an internal chat or group chat.  

Given that the feature exists for Support chat, why does this not work for internal chat as the technology appears to be the same.

 

WHen the developers come around to changing the chat functionality, please include the ability to paste and send images.  I’m sure others would support this request with a like / thumbs up on this request.
