Hi there,

We would like an option as part of the medical history flow, where we could duplicate and update a previous medical history.

Patients will frequently have a minor update needed to their medical history. It would save time if we could duplicate the last medical history and then edit, with any recent updates. Rather than having to complete the entire history each time.

Thanks,

Tom

Hi Tom @riverside, thanks very much for your question

When you create a medical history form in Dentally on behalf of the patient, you're able to edit the form for up to 24h after completing, so you shouldn't need to make a new one if it's within this timeframe. After that point, editing isn't possible and a new one should be created in order to ensure the answers are up-to-date - the new one will populate with answers from the previous one and then you can change as needed and save.

If the patient is completing medical history themselves (through Dentally Portal), their answers will auto-populate from previous responses so you can resend a medical history request and they'll be able to complete it again, with their previous answers auto-populating

Does this cover the scenario you're talking about?

That’s good to know - I agree with the original post that it is time-consuming for people to re-enter information entirely.

Even better: if there was a an option at the start of the process when updating a medical history form to simply select “No updates required” or “nothing changed” etc. That way a patient doesn’t need to scroll through every page of the form, even if it has been pre-populated.

Thanks @Hebe Lowen, that all makes sense and apologies, we’d not realised that patients would need to have completed a medical history in Dentally for this functionality to kick in (after migrating from SOE).

Thanks @EliseSS I’ll pass that onto our product team for consideration 😊

And no problem at all @riverside, glad to be able to help!
