Hi Dentally team,

More than a year ago we flagged with our Dentally contacts (Product Lead and Consultant) that Dentally does not have Cross Domain Tracking with Google.

What this means (simplistically), is that when patients see a Google ad and click through to book via Dentally, the link is lost and we have no way of knowing how many leads convert to a booking.

The Dentally team are aware of this and the associated issues, such as almost all competitors (at least, in Australia that I am aware) already do offer this, and also, it means investment in advertising has a poorer effectiveness/return on investment as Google cannot track and optimise the advertisements to get the best results. In short-  wasted expensive advertising dollars.

In July, I was told by our Practice Success consultant that there was good news that CDT had been prioritised in the next quarter.
However, he left  Dentally soon after, and despite following up at least 3 times via email, I have not heard anything at all back about when this is coming.

Can you please tell us when CDT is going live? Or if it is being de-prioritised, we also need to know as this affects Marketing activities and decisions we need to make.

Hi @Anne-Maree Siderides,

thanks for raising this. I know CDT is important for your marketing activities, and I'm sorry there's been some miscommunication there. I’m checking with our Product team now and we'll get back to you as we can.

Thank you Saymon, I look forward to hearing an update on its implementation

Hi @Anne-Maree Siderides  I'm Ross, the Head of Product here at Dentally. We completely agree that custom domain tracking should be incorporated into the Dentally Portal experience, and can fully understand the impact this is having on your ongoing marketing activities and your ability to make decisions.

We have had to shift our focus temporarily - but please be assured this is on our radar! We'll update here once we know more.

In the meantime Clayton, our Dentally Product Lead in APAC, will be giving you a call to talk this through, he has left you a message so please look out for this. Thank you for your patience and for keeping us accountable!

Hi Ross,

Thank you for getting back to me and I am glad to hear that this is on the radar - It’s just been quite confusing to initially be told it was going ahead then no further updates; we were confused about whether or not it is going ahead and when,  and its an important change.

In the meantime, it does impact marketing activities as we would like to expand our campaigns, but without the data that CDT gives, its really limiting what we can do.

I’ll have a chat to Clayton further about it - thanks for letting me know as I missed that voicemail yesterday.
