Hi there!
Welcome to the Community!
Dentally has a couple of reports that can help you track and manage practitioner payments effectively:
1. Practitioner Activity Report:
• Go to Reports > Treatments > Practitioner Activity.
• Use the filters to narrow your search (e.g., by practitioner, date range, or treatment type).
• This report is great for tracking what practitioners have done, such as treatments completed during a specific period.
2. Payment Allocation Totals Report:
• Go to Reports > Financial > Payment Allocation Totals.
• Set your date range to see how much is owed to each practitioner for a specific period.
• The totals are displayed on the far-right column, and the report also accounts for adjustments, refunds, and deposits used for completed treatments.
Make sure you have Level 2 access or higher to run these reports.
Some Tips:
• Use the Practitioner Activity Report for performance tracking and insights into treatments.
• Use the Payment Allocation Totals Report for calculating payments owed to each practitioner.
• If your practice has a unique payment structure, it’s a good idea to consult your practice manager or IT support for tailoring Dentally’s tools to your needs.
If you’re still getting the hang of the software, feel free to reach out to our Support team, they’ll be happy to help! Also, we’re considering creating a webinar specifically about managing practitioner payments. Let me know if you’d find that helpful!
Hi there!
I also use the Payment Allocations report and filter by practioner to get their monthly total. I then use this to pay them. It’s worth noting though, that I think the report only works off invoices paid and marked off as paid (ie the green tick) - so if some of your payment reconciling isn’t complete, the practitioner doesn’t get paid.
For example, we are in Australia and some children receive government benefits under a program. These are not paid on the spot but overnight by the government, after we put the claim through on that day. Until I check the claim has been received (ie the cash in the bank account) and ‘reconcile’ the claim, it does not show up in the Practitioner allocations.
A similar situation would happen if a private patient pays an invoice but for whatever reason, it’s not marked as paid. It’s worth having some checks in your team daily to capture these scenarios, to make paying practitioners a quicker process, in my experience.
