Enhancing the wait list function

Hi team,

I’m excited to see the now “Short notice” function on the diary.

However, I’d like to see one additional function/filter added to the waitlist/short notice function.

Many, if not all patients, have days/times they are available - eg Tuesday afternoon (PM), Friday morning (AM).

Could we have this added to the waitlist/short notice function, ie a patient can tell us what days they are normally available. This could be for example, tick boxes eg ticking the boxes for the days of the week a patient is normally available.

If this data is captured, it makes it a LOT easier for the reception to know who they can call to fill a slot, rather than calling a whole list of patients. the “AM/PM “ would be a further enhancement, but at a minimum we really do need an idea of what days of the week patients are available. Currently, we would have to open each and every ‘wait list’ item to see the notes in it, and see which days patients have said they are available.
The ability to filter the waitlist by days of the week availability, would save a lot of time and be more effective!!

Hi Anne-Maree, I am the Senior Product Manager from the team that built the Short Notice Filler. Great to hear your excitement! How have you found using it so far?

You make a great point, and I agree with you. We are working on a way to capture this info as it’s applicable for all appointments, not just short notice appointments, and we want to display it for patients. This is why we didn’t include it here, but it’s in our pipeline!

Do share any more feedback you have (good and bad) as we are eager to learn how you find it!

Hi Hansa,

We haven’t used it extensively as we are only a small practice so not too many gaps to fill - but I love the actionability around it! Meaning, its easy and direct for the team to ‘take action’ by just hitting a button, to fill the gaps in the diary.

I am very glad to hear you have it on the radar to capture ‘days of the week’ availability, as this will help use the short notice waiting list and Short Notice filler, more effectively

Hi @Hansa Rastogi , do you have any update on when the wait list would be improved to be able to mark/filter for “days of the week availability”

We are struggling to use the wait list effectively or efficiently without this very key information.

Hi Anne-Maree,

This is still on the product team’s radar as part of wider work around capturing patient availability, but there isn’t a timeline to share just yet. I appreciate it’s a big efficiency win for reception teams, and the feedback here is noted and already linked to that broader piece of work. 😊

If you'd like to provide more detail on where this is causing challenges for you, it would be helpful for our product team.

Thanks again for continuing to share feedback!

As pointed out there are many shortcomings with Dentallys version of the snc list… What i have our team doing is putting a note on the front of the appointment when they are booking….

This allows us to filter as we need to especially for hygiene ie Offer from April 10-2 Etc…

I would also like to add that i have been in contact with Dentally most of the day with an issue it is now 4.21 and i have yet to have someone deal with it.

I have to be honest i do miss SOE personal touch and being able to speak to a person I also think Dentally Community is a way to have practices sort out issues that Dentally should be dealing with.

Hey @Adi,

I’m going to tag @Hansa Rastogi here who’s working on the short notice filler so she can get in contact with you to gather more info. I know her team is working hard on this great new feature so I’m sure there will be more iteration and improvements in the future!

I have also sent a message to our support team to come back to you hopefully before end of day - I know they’re quite busy at the moment with the NHS changes in Wales and various other matters so it might take a bit more. Let me know if you still don’t get a response. Happy to help!
