Hello Lesley, I used Chairsyde daily with Dentally and it works a dream! The fact the button is just on the right of the screen, it automatically links to the patient I am on and brings up with whatever I am looking for, so either voice notes, certain procedures or previous tracking. My team also use it and patients value it as they understand rather than be told things. From prevention all the way to treatment options and potential risks of particular treatment. I find it very easy to use and so do my team, in fact my dental assistant is very good in loading any videos I have started to talk about.
In summary, it has really helped with my notes for patients and writing letters to patients very quickly, even before the patient has left the practice! Also the videos are very informative but simple for patients to understand dental conditions and their relevant treatment options. I would advise it and the team are there for support and training and happy to answer any questions I have.
Our practice principal has been using Chairsyde for around a year with about 50% of all patients (basically wherever an expensive reatment plan is needed) We note the following:
- Very useful for us to evidence that the patient has understood the treatment options and therefore overall consent (Chairsyde allows us to track that the patient has opened a link to a video annimation and explaination)
- Good to demonstrate to a patient whilst in a dental chair
- Look impressive and innovative to differentiate our practice from others not using it
- Support is generally good although a bit slow at times
Cons
- Dentally integration does not always work well and when we need it, giving rise to frustration and multiple API token key generation to get it restarted again by someone who knows how to edit the settings each time (clinicians wont always remember)
- I think its only reasonable to charge a single fee per practice at best or at worst have a scaled pricing of 1-3 users at the lowest price rather than the same charge for each clinician
