Hi @Rothwell_Dental
The reason your patient’s payment shows in the Takings Report but not in the Practitioner’s (Income) Report comes down to how each one works:
-
Takings Report
This report lists every payment you’ve taken in your selected date range: part-payments, instalments, deposits and full payments alike.
-
Practitioner’s (Income) Report
This only reflects fully paid invoices. If a patient has a £200 invoice and has only paid £100 so far, that £100 will appear in the Takings Report immediately but won’t show in the Income Report until the remaining £100 is settled.
Because your patient’s invoice wasn’t marked as completely paid, you’ll see their partial payment in the Takings Report but not in the Practitioner’s Report yet.
What you can do next:
-
If you want to see practitioner-attributed revenue, including part-payments as they come in, stick with the Takings Report.
-
If you prefer to track only cleared, fully paid invoices by practitioner, use the Income Report (or for an even more detailed view, the Monthly Accounts report with its “Net payments” column).
Finally, if you still don’t see what you expect, it’s worth double-checking that the payment and its underlying invoice are both attributed to the correct practitioner. Occasionally a payment can be mis-allocated or posted against the wrong dentist.
Hope this clarifies things!
