Hi
If an invoice is appearing on the Takings Report but not under the individual practitioner’s report, it might be due to how the payment or invoice was allocated. The Takings Report focuses on payments received, while the Income Report is usually a better way to check what income has been attributed to a specific practitioner since it links invoices to the practitioner who carried out the treatment.
You can try this:
🧾 Go to Reports > Income Report
Set your date range using the “From” and “Until” filters
🧑⚕️ Select the practitioner in question from the dropdown
You can also choose whether to include or exclude sundries/zero-value items
This should give you a clearer view of the income generated by that practitioner. If things still aren’t adding up, the Payment Allocations report can also help you track how payments have been assigned (including any that might not be fully allocated).
Let me know if that helps!
Thank you that was such a great help and much appreciated.
I have another query for you if you would be able to help.
We cannot access our PRSI report for practitioners. We need this report to cross reference our list of patients who have paid PRSI. I have gone in to report and used all filters as advised but still coming up blank.
kind regards
sarah
Hi
I’ve answered your question in the other topic, but just to recap: if the PRSI report is still coming up blank, it may be that no PRSI claims have been submitted yet in Dentally. If you believe everything has been set up correctly and you’re still not seeing results, feel free to reach out to our Support team in Dentally, they’ll be happy to take a closer look with you.

Hi
I had a question linked to this topic.
I understand how the Payment allocations works and this is correct for actually paying practitioners to exclude invoices that haven’t been paid, or deposits for work that hasn’t been completed.
However, on the practice management side, to assess how much income practitioners are generating, I’m struggling to get a clear picture - this is because the Invoices report doesn’t have a practitioner breakdown.
And the Income report does have a practitioner breakdown, but I believe it doesn’t include unpaid invoices?
How could we get a view of how much each practitioner has invoiced each month, regardless of whether it is paid or not? To assess their performance.
Hi
To get a monthly view of how much each practitioner has invoiced including unpaid invoices, the best tool is the Monthly Accounts report in Dentally. Please note that this report is only available to permission level 3 or 4 users.
This report focuses on Accounts Receivable (A/R) and is designed to basically show you all charges, discounts, adjustments, and payments per practitioner, regardless of whether invoices have been paid. It’s ideal for understanding how much each practitioner has generated, even if the income hasn’t yet been collected.
You can find it in: Reports > Financial > Monthly Accounts
This is what you’ll be able to see in this report:
Opening A/R: Total unpaid invoices at the start of the month
Charges and Adjustments: All items added to invoices for each practitioner
Net Charges: Charges minus discounts, plus any adjustments
Payments and Net Payments: What’s been paid/allocated during that month
Closing A/R: Outstanding unpaid invoices at month-end
% Collected: Helpful for understanding payment conversion over time
Unlike other reports, the Monthly Accounts report is locked after month-end, so once the data is final, it won’t change. This makes it great for performance tracking over time.
If you’re on a multisite setup, just keep in mind it reports on the currently selected site, including cross-site payments.
