I’ve also requested this feature before. I sometime find it easier to hover over several patients in the diary to than to use the “Today’s Visits” function.
Hey both!
I’ve had a look internally and you’re not the first to ask for this; it’s come up a few times and we agree it would help at check-in. The team is actively looking at patient exemptions end-to-end (including what we show on the diary hover). We’ve also received a few related requests, like long-running exemptions being overwritten by a short validity when the FP17PR is completed in Portal (can lead to charging quirks).
I don’t have a date to share yet, but it’s on the team’s priority list and I’ll update this thread as we progress. 😊
If other practices want this too, please add a 👍 or a quick comment with your use-case, if there’s broad interest we’ll feature it on the homepage.
Hi Saymon,
Could you please elaborate on the last comment with an example of how you would expect the behaviour to work if there was a change.
Also, whilst on this topic - we sometimes get patients who fill in the FP17 form incorrectly online eg patient is under 18 years of age but the parent or patient accidentally select they are on universal credit.
we don’t have the time to check the accuracy of FP17s when the patient comes in and we assume it is correct. When the dentist submits the NHS claim it gets rejected and we don’t always pick up on this and wr lose out financially.
Leaving aside the fact that we should be checking our claims histories routinely, it would be helpful if some sanity checks are built into the FP17 submission when they submit it OR of the dentist or reception staff can be alerted to the fact that a possibly mistake might have been. We also get patients claiming they are prisoners when they misread as pensioners.
Something needs to be programmatically done to alert the patient of their possible incorrect choice or the dentist when it’s not a common selection or most likely to be wrong like the child under 18 on universal credit.
Hi @BCDC2023!
Thanks for the examples! The diary hover is currently in discovery with our Product team, so I can’t share specifics yet. I’ve flagged this thread to the PMs so they can factor in your use case; I’ll update here once there’s something concrete to share.
For the FP17/Portal “sanity checks”,I’ve added your scenarios (e.g. under-18 + Universal Credit, prisoner vs pensioner) into the same workstream. I’ll post back when there’s news. 😊 It’s best to have a chat with our product team so they can share more, I’ll remind them to reach out.
If other practices have edge cases (maternity timelines, HC2 expiry handling, etc.), please add them here, real-world examples help us shape this well. 🙏
Hi
As of today, I am noticing that whenever a parent is signing a FP17 for a child, it is no longer showing or offering them anything anything other than the option to select patient is under 18. If this was a recent change and following my comments above, then thank you.
To add to the above and I cant remember if I have asked it elsewhere, but we really really need to include an option to delete a medical history that was just done or recently done and do it again because it is incorrect. The same with the FP17 form, perhaps you can clarify how this can be done either before an appointment has started or during or after.
My staff want to revert to the old ipad app (not the concierge version) because the old one allows you to do the form multiple times if necessary.
