Hi everyone, this is probably a really simple question, but does anyone know if there’s a way to permanently change the default appearance on the calendar? Ours is currently set to 'Payment Plan,' which was fine when we had an NHS contract, but I’d now prefer everyone’s default to be set to 'Appointment Type.' This would make it easier to instantly see treatment appointments and ensure they’re booked into the correct zones. At the moment, everyone seems to have theirs set up differently and manually changes it, which can lead to inconsistency. Is there a way to make this change across the board for the whole team

Hey ​@Lesley Morgan-Barlow currently that’s a user specific permission which is unique to each individual user and cannot be changed globally. I think as different users will possibly need to see a different view on what’s going on each day, that’s why it was implemented as a user permission. 

 

As you know, the team are more than happy to look at feature requests however there is no guarantee it will be implemented sadly. It may be for the time being, it’s communicated at a local level in practice to ensure it’s set to the view you require and explain the issues you are seeing when they are looking at a different view.


Hi Paul, I have just reached out to the support desk as the BOT told me that if I set it to my preference it would remember it for next time I ligged in, It doesn;’t and it Didn’t. Hence I reached out to the Support desk.

I’ve be told it will automatically reset to the preference of the last user that logged in but all our users automatically resent to payment type. Is this a site specific glitch? Or is it normal?

Hey Lesley, so I’ve just tried changing the view on a sandbox, logged out and then logged back in...it retained the last view I looked at, tried it a good few times and even tried some of the other user specific items like multi day/users….each time I logged back it, it retained the last known setting. I did record the screen but looks like the file is too big to upload on here :(

Going back to my support days, I’m wondering if it has something to do with your Chrome History? Clearing that alongside cookies and cache may resolve it? Unless you have IT policies in place that could be making it lose the preference? If everyone is using the same Chrome profile and it remembers the last users preference (as in not yours) I can kinda understand that as that info might be held in Chrome rather than your actual profile...if you are the only one that uses the PC, I don’t see why it would change the prefernec but multi user….maybe.

Could you possibly try logging into Dentally using an Incognito window, change the view, log out and then log back in again using an incognito window? Alternatively, try a PC that you’ve never logged into Dentally on? Might help narrow down where the issue is coming from.

I have just tried this and

  1. Clearing the cache and logging out an in keeps you settings the same, but
  2. Closing Google and logging back in whether on a normal or incognito browser doesn’t 😔

I guess it is going to be one of those little irritations for now 😫

 

 

 


Sorry Lesley!! I’ll certainly add in a feature request for you when I can to see if anything can be done on a global scale but as I mentioned, just to manage expectations...I couldn’t give you any timescales or even if it would be feasible.
