Keen to understand if and when it would be possible to log call data directly into a patients correspondence record without having to send it to the Dentally mailbox first which is what we have to do at present, or if this is being looked at or developed in the roadmap?

We also produce documents that we have to dump then attach to patient records, if this could go straight in without a two step process this would be best.

Thanks for the question! Right now, you can log call details directly into a patient’s correspondence record without having to send them through the Dentally mailbox. Just head to the patient’s correspondence tab, click ‘New Correspondence,’ and select ‘New Call.’ From there, you can add everything you need—like the description, who was involved, phone number, call duration, and if it was incoming or outgoing. (Check out more in the Dentally Help Centre!)

 

For documents, you can upload them straight to a patient’s correspondence tab. It does involve selecting the patient record and attaching the file, but it keeps everything nicely organised in one place. (More details are in Dentally Help if you need them!). If you’re asking about the ability to bulk upload a bunch of documents and have them automatically assigned to the correct patient records, that’s unfortunately not something Dentally supports right now. Each document does need to be manually uploaded to the right patient’s correspondence tab.

 

I hear you on wanting a smoother and smarter workflow, and I’ll pass this feedback on to our Product team. They’re always looking for ways to improve Dentally, so your input is super valuable.


Hi apologies I've not explained myself well, I am talking in the context of using the API, not manually. I know I can log a call manually, but I understand there are limitations with the API in which I cannot automate logging a call in Dentally. This is the same with document generation and linking a document to a patient record. For both tasks, they have to be sent as an email to the mailbox and manually linked to the patient record.
